What is J Fred's approximate capacity with the new addition?

Around 4700 on the home side with the new seats. New deck is around 1100 but only ends up being an addition of 800 total seats because 300 existing seats on the bottom were eliminated because of the addition of 2 sets of stairs, railings on all stairs, and elimination of the old student stands. Not sure how many seats are on the visitor side but it is a joke because this is a dual purpose stadium (football/baseball) and half of the visitors side is the baseball outfield and so it can't have stands there. There is a ton of standing room though and in a pinch you could use the baseball stands with some binoculars! Biggest games will see 10,000+ but several thousand of those are walking around with nowhere to sit.

Yes it sucks for vistors to sit on metal bleachers ..

but most high schools have vistor metal bleachers.. i wish one day it will happen and the move will be made but doubtful !! But i dont care because this complex along with new scoreboard is just bad a**! I talked to a guy from georgia during funfest and he said when he was at taste of tri cities (across street from db ) that he thought the staduim wasnt that big at first then he walked inside to see concert and he was blown away for it to be a high school staduim .. but he did say baseball and football fields in same area was odd !! It is bigger than looks as in pictures !!

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
