Well at this current time It would probably make more sense to promote from within because its May and It would probably set the Team back if they brought in a new guy with a new philosophy. Not much time between now and August to be making big changes.

Not heard a thing about the search for a new coach but did hear a rumor about a WR/LB leaving to play at CAK . Very good athlete, Austin Pope.....has he left the school ? And is he going to be moving to CAK ?

From what I have been told the pope kid did leave but none of the players are upset about it. I guess there is more to football than just being a good player at SC.

Austin is a very good football player and he is gone. Players play with whoever shows up , Austin will be missed but will be replaced. The bears have a very strong foundation and a lot of good coachs still hanging around. Just hire the darn head man already!!

Why are players defecting before they even know who the coach is going to be?  It seems a little odd that a program offering everything that SC has offered for many years, would be losing players.  Hope they name a coach soon and you guys can move forward, I used to live in Sevier Co. and have always been a SC fan, so best of luck to you guys.  Knowing how close knit the whole community is, and looking at the success SC has had the last 15 or 16 years,  I personally expect SC to hire from within, unless some of those assistants do not want to be head coaches.  I believe Tony Linginfelter was the head coach at South Doyle at one time, so he has some head coaching experience, but I have also been told by a friend of his that he was not sure Tony was interested in being a head coach.
