Stratford is not in the same ballpark as Pearl Cohn. And the fact that you bring up a Stratford win over Marshall County (lol) in comparison to an MBA loss by PC told me all I need to know. MBA is possibly the best team in the entire state this year after seeing their win over Brentwood Academy. And they are on a different planet from your win over Marshall County... Pearl Cohn would win in a big way if they lined up against Stratford.

I actually think Stratford is a pretty good team. But trying to act like Pearl Cohn couldn't stay on the field with them is complete nonsense.

Fitzgerald is the difference in those two programs, and he is the reason those two programs are successful right now.

 

PC was a doormat before Fitzgerald turned them around and built a powerhouse there. Stratford's once proud tradition had fallen to become a laughing stock and an embarrassment before Fitzgerald revitalized the Spartans.

Stratford still lacks the support needed to be truly elite. The community is slowly embracing them again. But if SHS and PC teed it up, my money is on the team coached by Fitzgerald...

CRidge is the only Metro team that could come within 2TDs of PC. According to various post stratford is not very disciplined ask Maplewood what happens to an undisciplined team against PC.

Why would stratford not want to play PC? I think if they played this year Stratford would win. I am biased as I graduated from SHS. But I saw all I needed to see when Stratford beat Marshall County, and PC is not as good as Marshall County for sure. Stratford has a tougher kid than PC has. Two games told me all I needed to know about these two teams, Stratford beating Marshall County and PC getting beat by 50 by MBA. Fitzgerald is the difference in those two programs, and he is the reason those two programs are successful right now.

My point is I have seen Pearl beat way too many times by 40 and 50 points with a running clock.  They are not much better than any elite metro school IMO. Stratford matches up well with teams like PC and Marshall County. The bigger, as athletic and much tougher than PC. I thick this is where the Fitzgerald factor comes into place.  Plus Stratford would have the best player on the field and probably 4 out of the top 5 kids on either team. I think the score at halftime of the PC/MBA game was 49-0. MBA could have beat them by 80 if PC didn't opt to stop the game. That doesn't happen to Fitzgerald coached teams and thats the big difference between those two programs.
