You are right about sub-state. I would put Cosby and Hampton as two of the best sub-state atmospheres in the state. Very few have went to Cosby or Hampton and won a sub-state game.

I think Cosby and Hampton both need a home sub state game if they are wanting to advance to state. I dont see either of us going on the road and beating Harriman or Grace. I can see either of us being able to win on our home floors respectively. I've seen good teams come to the hill in Cosby and crumble many times...Hampton is much the same, very hard to play a game under that big H-town water tower and win...at any sport!

Seems like Harriman plays to their competition and a very beatable for sure. Those Rams on the other hand when playing someone OTHER than Harriman are too much to handle. If Harriman Wins the region GCA will win on any court in East Tenn in 1A they are just dang good.HHS has the most athletes I have seen in a quick minute but play very undisciplined and GCA Struggles with that type of team and I don't see any other team in our rural communities that have those type players left.when Harriman is on their game man are they fun to watch! Agree on all points oldeagle, however, whomever gets a sub-state game at home now gets Grace and whomever loses will have to travel to Harriman. Tough task either way but home-court definitely needed by either team.

Definitely! Both teams are playing their best ball right now! Harriman looked like a team on a mission tonight! If the Blue Devils keep that play up they could seriously make some noise in Murfreesboro! One game at a time though and sub-state is the big one coming up!!

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
