This is a FALSE STATEMENT... You don't know enough about OB to say what you said...

OB isn't Whitehaven but regardless their community and school doesn't mirror Whitehaven in the least bit.

their football team has the exact same racial makeup as whitehaven. Therefore, your argument about not wanting to play a black team is false. There are other examples as well but it is not worth diving into bc you already have a predetermined mindset

Didn't want you to wait too long. Check out the Mid TN big three coachT schedules and you'll see Trezvant, Maplewood, Peal Cohn, RE, Stratford, Hillsboro, JCM, etc... Some were played away AND many of those schools traveled to play without getting a return game at home. Wow!!!!

You should do a little prep work before making baseless claims of race being the issue.

The truth is that if you guys are wanting so badly to play the best teams in the state then traveling may be the only option. But, as we have all seen, you, like many weak minded folks, want to pout and whine about the inequities YOU see when the solution is easy.

You see race in everything first, as evidenced by your posting history, whereas reasonable folks try to look at a broader scope. It must be tough being you with all that anger and frustration built up? You obviously fail to realize how wonderfully alike we all are in so many ways.

Now, since I've answered your question tell the T why the local schools don't play you guys? I'm giddy with anticipation for your response. Lol

Why doesn't MBA come to PC? BA doesn't go to Stratford or Maplewood "but has ALOT of East Nashville kids".TzV comes to Ensworth. Hillsboro is a mixed school in a Rich area...

its not about the team being black because I can name alot of teams with majority or all black kids but at a mixed or white school. Its about where the game is played at. If you had a choose to live between whitehaven or Hillsboro "Greenhills" You would choose GH 99.9% of the time. Am I correct?

It has been explained what the REAL ISSUE is by FBfan26, but I want to call you out on your STUPIDITY... You see, you don't want to understand... You want to make an argument that I am not making. It's not just about the PLAYERS it is about the COMMUNITY. It's About the Environment... We are better than these D2 schools, yeah but it's way bigger than us beating them. It's an Economic thing... So if you want to believe that it's only about the players on the field, fine.  FBfan26 said what US BLACK PEOPLE know. COME TO WHITEHAVEN for this hospitality and A** whoopin just like you do for your lily white counterparts so we can have a Massive Gate like ya'll will have... It's Simple

Your patience with folks that don't want to understand is amazing bruh. I applaud you, on God.

I'm playing the role of Saulsberry Anger Translator so I'm just gonna keep bussin' them in the head with it but I thank you for saying it calmly to them. I'm calling them what they need to be called, COWARDS. They are afraid of a part of Memphis that has the most College grads in it's zip code

Race is the reason... You too dumb to understand that's the reason. It's not hyperbole when I know two different Large MS school coaches have said this, "coach we'll play you at our place, Whitehaven is just too dangerous of a place for our kids." That's what the cowards say. What makes our community dangerous. Franklin, WC, Germantown, Arlington, Bartlett, etc have All came and were able to leave, whether win, lose or draw, with no problems.... Rich boys in the city (large Privates) are echoing the same thing as the MS coaches. Their racist ideology is preventing them from grabbing their jewels and signing the Home/Home... my credibility is through the roof because I call it as is.

BHS, This has been a very interesting topic. Whitehaven should want home and home series with top schools and it is a shame they cant get them. I think there is a difference between race and safety and this is why schools don't want to play at Whitehaven.

In 2012 when Mt Juliet traveled to Whitehaven for the semi's; my experience with your school and fans could not have been better. Great hospitality and classy fans.

I was responsible for finding out where the MJ team buses were to park for the game. I was originally told to have them park in the big grass lot behind the end zone; which is where we did. As the team was getting off the bus; two police officers come up to me  and tell me we need to move the buses behind the visitors stand on the street. I was told that it was not safe to park the buses behind the end zone. So we moved the buses. During pregame warmups for skill players; there were a couple of gun shots behind the home stands. I don't think it was on the school property; but I do not know. Later heard that someone was killed. As I was walking up to ask if there was an outlet on the side lines to plug in a couple of heaters; I hear the head official tell Coach Saulsberry ( spelling ? ) and Coach Perry that he " was concerned for the safety of his crew if the game didn't go a certain way ".

After the game; I was told by two different police officers to make sure our players get on the bus as soon as possible. I told them we would be loaded up after the team had some thing to eat. I was then told to have them get on the bus right away and eat on the bus. When I asked if there was a problem; I was told no; but we ( police ) can only guarantee your safety for so long in this area and we will escort you out of the area. Of the 4 officers I talked with ; three were black.

As far as I know; there was not one incident of any kind. I heard nothing but good stories about how are players and fans were treated. That was 2012. I know MJ has been there since; and I have not heard anything negative; but I have been away from the team since 2014.

Unfortunately; the Whitehaven area does not have a good reputation for being a safe place to be. Weather it is perception or reality; it is what it is. Schools are not going to take the slightest risk regarding the safety of their teams. I personally do not think it has anything to do with race but safety. It is a shame; because the Tigers are one of the top programs in the state. This is just my take on it.

Good luck on the upcoming season.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
