Unbelievable that some whiny little babies could blame the refs on that game , what a slap in the face of them young kids that busted their butts so hard . # 68 is a Great Player no doubt , but he totally lost his composure and could of been called for holding a bunch more times , they only called the " Takedowns " that a 98 yr old woman could of seen ... he wasn't the only one though , the taunting and talking cost Catholic too . I believe Catholic will win 5A going away this year , but The Coach has got to get a little more control of them . Catholic's Talent Level is unbelievable for a D1 team .... and I won't say anything else about that  , but to win the tight games you have to have more discipline .

I'm very happy for Coach Hunt , what a first game , we'll always remember this one ... our defense needs a LOT of work to get back to where we want to be .

Catlick had one of the most talented teams I've seen play at murvil. Shads blackman team and Bennys Cleveland team also come to mind. #3, 1, 2, 8 , 44 all stood out. Shout out to the OL too. 49 points is a lot!

Can't help but wonder how good murvil would be if they had the talent that was on the visitors side tonight. #1 is a stud. Thanks to all those kids for a great game to watch.

All good OL hold every play, the good ones just don't get caught.

It seemed like he got mad at the end there and wasn't happy with just a good block , he wanted to slam them down on their back and it was obvious when he did the take downs he was holding . I think he'll be a great Player for UT and I think he'll play a lot of years in the pros ... he has that Motor and that little bit of nasty side a great lineman needs ... just needs to control it just a little bit better .

Wow! I What a great game to kick off the season. Congrats to coach Hunt on his first win. Maryville offense will be very good this year and Catholic also looks very explosive on offense. Both teams should have great seasons. Both defenses will have to get better if they want to bring home the gold ball.

As for the officials there's two of them that have no right to ever do any Maryville games. The head official is one of the biggest Maryville homers around. All of us that live here know it. He should NEVER do any of the Maryville games. PERIOD!

    • Yeah I am on board and plan on coming down from the Ridge for some home games, great Friday night atmosphere there.  I'm really hoping SC can get them back going and have some success for those fans and community.
    • Yep I was field level on the scoreboard end throwing ball with Benny when we had that brief lead. Everybody got very excited but it was short lived as Murvil regrouped and went into machine mode. But yeah,  that hit sounded like the crack of a black powder rifle being fire.  I believe Dozier took one like that as a Soph up at Greeneville after on olay block.
    • Ole Benny boy lol. I forgot about Harder. He was tough as crap. He graduated in ‘09. I went to the OR/Maryville game that year (great game, btw) and he collided with Jacob West (I think was his name) and you could hear it clearly at the top of the visitor bleachers. Man, it was a stick. He could lay some wood son. All those guys were tough, Elliott included.
    • They do have good community support for sure and did when I coached under Z for 4 years. (I was on that staff that turned them around a little from winning 1 game a year to actually being competitive).  Great Kids and Great Community over there.  They have done some good things with the facilities from when i coached too.
    • I personally will not mind that one bit.  It seems like a really strange fit to me from the git go.
