That region wouldn’t be any tougher than the one Alcoa is currently in......

Anderson, Fulton, Stone unbeaten currently and Sequoyah 3-1, it would be. Maybe not a chance of it if the tssaa doesn’t tighten up on teams fleeing competition.

Fulton would be a trade with AE. The others are not very good...Greeneville in playoffs would be nice. However championship game would be a joke....

Take away Seq. or Stone and add Betsy and you might be getting closer..

You really think Alcoa, (Who ever you are calling Alcoa. Fans, coaches, students, players, parents, teachers, custodians, hanger oner's, want to ber's, citizens, other tuition open schools, or coach T defenders of Alcoa.) really care if anybody trashes them. That's the way they wants it, that's the the way they gets it. I don't like it any more than any of the rest of you.                      There are alot of things that are unfair but trashing Alcoa doesn't really matter. I think they are a little tougher than that. Don't you trader two.

You missed the point too. I used Alcoa because he/she used Alcoa. The point is, it's stupid to single out ONE program for being successful, or to use ONE struggling program as an example, when the system is the same for many others (take notice that I didn't say everyone). I happen to believe that an open zone system does have an advantage when in proximity to a large population...I also believe that success is the meeting of opportunity, hard work, and ambition, and that nobody should be penalized for having ambition and work ethic.

As for me "defending" the goon squad ( :roflol:)...they need me for that like the Victoria's Secret models need suspenders to hold their pants up.

Alcoa will be fine....If travel is required, we will travel. Always bring a good crowd wherever we end up.  We are kinda used to the ole dodgers. Always enjoy rubbing their noses in it. :thumb:  Then, everyone wants to complain about our schedule. When you get to the point of playing who will agree to play, that point seems kinda mute...

would like to see ole Ranker accept the BA game to see if Aluminum City could claim states over-all top dog. .....not sure what it really accomplishes...but b fun to watch

Booger just sayin

Don't blame it on because he/she used them. You are on the open zone tuition paying  apoligist band wagon now. Sure hard work and opportunity works. It REALLY works when you get the opportunity to go where you want for a minimum price.

This thread is dumb. There's no reason Alcoa should be forced to play in 6A with 3A enrollment.

If you want to make the argument Alcoa should explore options of moving up fine. I might agree. It would probably even be beneficial to Alcoa.

If they added 200 kids in that school I don't see anyone in the state beating them regularly, including Maryville.

If they got to a 6A enrollment they'd be a top 25 team in the country year in and year out.

But the premise of this topic was forcing them to play 6A with their current enrollment. Which is bonkers.

Apologist??? You want to label me, and insinuate that being "open zone" is somehow beneath being pure and fair in competition...we can go there. All public school systems in Tn. are open zone UNTIL the Board of Directors vote to be otherwise, and are able to set restrictions ( tuition, enrollment, zones, ect… ) as they see fit, so I'll assume that wherever you're from is closed zone and your system forces you to send your children where they decide. How do you justify telling a county taxpayer which school a child must attend? All schools are not equal athletically or academically...lets say that graduation rates, ACT scores, GPA, and college enrollment numbers are significantly higher at one school than another in your county...you OK with your children's future being affected negatively by the zone you live in, although your tax dollars fund the "better" school as well as the one your Board forces your child to attend? Got a faint whiff of socialism about it to me, and I will never change my position on the matter, nor APOLOGISE for it.

Well you all bit. Got a thesis from trade man and a old pic from old slant head. I was hoping for some old trade mark song but l guess some other time. But socialist. Whew, l did not think l would get cussed at. The T is getting tough. I forgot it has always been tough when you talk tuition and open zone on the T. I am surprised l did not get scolded and schooled by the whole crowd of apoligist. Bring it on and don't hold back. We must keep the tough T marching onward. I am surprised that all you got is old pics and political theories.
