We ready...Don't bring up other sports because the only one you have a chance in is football lol. One day your going to get humbled probably by the Tssaa. We all know Rankin left riverdale because he couldn't bring in outside talent anymore there. Wonder why he landed at Alcoa? Didn't see him dominating like that at Smith county. No he and your program wouldn't be where it is without out of county talent. Everyone in the state knows it. So blah blah all you want. If you had to work with the talent in the radius of your school you would be just like everyone else. Word on the street is it might happen sooner than later 8)

Hatter,  Pearl Cohn is allowed to take kids that attend a 900 enrollment MLK hs amd play in 3A with those MLK kids. All Alcoa fb players attend Alcoa HS. Upperman and most Tn high schools are open enrollment. Lol.

I think I can name 5 NFL players that grew up in sight of Alcoas fb stadium. So thats not bad.

Excited for Friday night. Hope to get the chance to meet you and some fellow Uhs coache T folks.

Indian, most schools in TN are open enrollment.  My question would be,  "why arent other schools, scrutinized for open enrollment?" The answer is, because they are not as successful.  For example Alabama plays under the same rules as everyone else in the ncaa, why are they more successful?

Its a level playing field,  some schools/communities/boosters/coaches simply do a better job with what they are given.

Totally agree. I’m sure the TSSAA looks more closely at their rosters than anyone’s. Success breeds success. Kids in towns with championship programs grow up working and wanting to be a part of it.  The next generation of champions are being trained in the pee-wee youth programs there now. You can argue with success. You try to recognize it and replicate it in your own program.

Great post!!!

Well said Hammer. Indian is just another one of those lazy people who would rather see someone fail rather than his team putting in  hard work and dedication to get better. Probably eating three boxes of Twinkie’s as we speak... Sad tho, really sad...

High schools in Putnam County aren’t “hard-zoned” and kids can attend Monterey, Cookeville or Upperman. However, you do have to live in Putnam County. There isn’t a tuition option to attend school in Putnam County if you don’t live there and if you need transportation, you have to attend the school you are zoned to attend. I don’t think that’s the reason they don’t have a state championship though. CHS has to be one of the largest 6A schools in the state.
