Which fight was that?

Matches were beginning to be reduced to 12 rounds a few months after the 14 round  Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini fight against South Korean Duk Koo Kim in Nov 1982 which resulted in Kim's death.

That fight was nationally televised.

Tyrell Biggs in 1987.  It was scheduled for 15 but only went 7.

I remember the Mancini/Kim fight as well.

I was a Mancini fan as well.  I was annoyed that he was allowed to fight Bramble when he did.  Bramble was allowed to run his mouth.  Bramble was a bum that got lucky in the 1st fight and won a narrow scoring decision on the new system put in place ironically because of the Kim fight. I think he held back on punching Bramble and Camacho and tried to win by taking a beating.  Danny "Little Red" Lopez was another one I liked back then.

I remember the Bramble fights as well.  Boom Boom's corner was upset that Livingston Bramble was allowed to fight with his hair in 'corn rolls' .  He used his hair style as a weapon against the face of Boom Boom.

Tyson never went 15 rounds OP but I understood the point you were making.

I get the point as well but I'm not sure if it holds water using Tyson.  6-2 in fights lasting 10 rounds or more isn't exactly someone that runs out of gas easily.

The point he made about platooning is spot on, however.

That's how that cut happened in the 1st round.  Bramble had nothing left after those 2 Mancini fights.

I would have to look at those opponents that he went against in that 6-2 record.

The 2 losses were Holyfield and Douglas.

James Tillis, Mitch Green, Donovan Ruddock were the non title Unanimous Decisions.  James Smith and Tony Tucker were his title fight UDs.

The other fight that went to the final round was Jose Ribalta.  He KOd Ribalta in the 10th.

I remember the Alexis Arguello fights against Aaron Pryor.  Where Pryor's corner asked for the 'special mix' between some rounds.

Those fights were epic and toe to toe as well.

The special mix was another bottle they used in the corner.  This was the 'drink' that Aaron would swallow and not spit out like the regular water bottle.  Speculation was it was spiked with a performance enhancing drug of sorts.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
