I truly believe more so than any year, this year anyone can beat anyone on a given night! 1. Greenfield. (Healthy now) (pressure of repeat?) 2. Gibson co (Can they stand the pressure of supposing to be the best? who’s go to person?) 3. Peabody (Gotta show they can beat GC, can 5 Sophs play like upper classmen now?) 4. TCA (Match up problem with Peabody, Have shown to have problems with athletic teams) 5. Gleason (Who have they beat that stands out? Guard that was hurt is back so helps them a ton!) You always make informative and thought out posts, but I'd have to go with the following: 1. Gibson County (coaching, best in half court, defend all 5 positions, and deep bench) 2. Greenfield (Moore & Darby, they've been there before) 3. TCA (underated, disciplined, methodical, not as athletic but well coached) 4. Gleason (scrappy, play hard, good Coach in big games) 5. Peabody (athletic, young, emotional, not as consistent as top 4)

I’m going with Greenfield in this one. They have in my opinion the best player in the state in Moore. But Gleason is playing great ball and Atkins has been lightning it up. Could be a preview of another District Championship game. I’ve seen both teams play a few times. I think Greenfield and GC are the 2 best teams in the state .Gleason has probably improved more than anyone since the first of the year. Not even in the discussion to start the year, but them and TCA are forcing people to take notice. I love this time of year ! #1 vs #2 in the district. Gleason will try to slow the game down and make it a 10-6 game at halftime. Should be a good game and should be a good indication of what's to come in the district tournament. Greenfieldfan
Greenfield 43 Gleadon 24 after 3 qtr. The Greenfield press is killing Gleason. Tess Darby is a rebounding machine. Edie Darby Is everywhere on both ends of the court. The Darby sisters are putting on a show. Awesome game girls you are peaking at the right time 56-29. 2:00 remaining and both teams subbing. I don’t think any of the other 4 are at their level yet. I think TCA and GC are the next two best teams and Peabody and Gleason 4th and 5th. I’ll be really shocked if Greenfield doesn’t get to Murfreesboro. The question is who is going to be the other team? TCA now has depth that they didn’t have a week ago. 2 incredible 8th graders have moved up.
hoopfever
Greenfield looked really good tonight. They move the ball really well.Moore makes everyone better. Best player on the floor. Gleason looked out of sorts, the press never allowed them to get into an offensive flow.Atkins and Anderson weren’t factors . If Greenfield moves the ball and shoots like that the rest of the way they are going to be extremely hard to beat. I’m thinking repeat but only time will tell. Depth will be the question with Greenfield. They got in foul trouble against GC early and it hurt them early in the year. Last year they had the key role players that would come off the bench. They can win it but do they have quality depth?
GCPioneer
I watched the Greenfield and Gleason game tonight.... Greenfield has players stepping up that hadn't stepped up quite yet last time I saw them play. Chloe, Tess, and Edie did their thing, but the Reece kid and Crouse kid contributed quite a bit as well tonight. Greenfield certainly looked the team that is worthy of repeating last year's state championship run.
SuperFan14A
Convincing win for Greenfield. I personally hope GC and Greenfield both make it to the Boro. I'd like to see a round 2 or finals matchup, if everything works out the way I'd like. Looking forward to the Region tourney already. It'll be here before you know it. Now it starts getting real. We didn’t have Edie Darby the first game. That alone is a game changer. Chloe picked up her third foul with 6 minutes to go in the half. Coach T did a great job in the GC game to keep it close by slowing the game down. Like GCPiomeer said Greenfield has 5 sold players now and in the first GC game 2 starters were freshmen that had never started before. Reese Biggs has settled in and is playing awesome. We also have 2 or 3 other freshmen giving us quality minutes. Edited January 26, 2019 by Greenfieldfan

But who is to say a Summertown, Loretta, Clay County or TCA can't get hot and win it. Right now it is a coin flip, IMO. I don't think the early losses actually hurts teams but helps them if they can get better and Greenfield is obviously getting better and will be a force to be reckoned with no doubt. Greenfieldfan
I hope GC can win their district and Greenfield win ours then we are both opposite brackets the rest of the way. It’s sad that 5 of the 10 best teams in the state are in our region and only 2 can go to state. Good luck to all the teams anything can happen now.
