I've seen Grainger play last year. They are scary just watching them in warm ups. It did not surprise me that they went to State.  Top 5s and Top 10s change, just like the weather.

This thread is for predictions. Grainger will be there at the end of the season.

Grainger does have the easiest path to the state, and Meigs getting beat like they are is kinda shocking.

I think SG and Grainger will both go, I really don’t see anyone else that will challenge them.

Farragut is one of the best 3A teams in the East. I had a feeling it would happen after just playing Grainger.

Farragut vs Meigs is "apples and oranges". Same as Farragut and Grainger. That's the meaning of different classifications.

What I can't comprehend is the TSSAA sanctioning teams playing two games on the same day. It proves nothing.

I think Grainger and Meigs are outside the top 5. Meigs led for most of the game, but they were dead in the 4th quarter. Meigs is just poorly coached.

I guess Grainger wasn't tired from playing Farragut that morning? Pretty sure that was Meigs first game of the day and Grainger's 2nd.  I believe that had a little to do with how that game went early.  However, Meigs Co. is a really good team! They play extremely hard on both ends of the floor.  When it's all said and done they will have plenty to say who plays in the state tournament, would not be surprised to see them there.  Plus it's November! Come February no one will remember November.

Good post! a Basketball has the luxury of building a team with game time lessons.  A loss is not as detrimental at the first of the season.  Meigs will be a tough opponent when all is said and done.

I don’t know, looks like they struggled with a way down McMinn Central tonight, and South Greene got beat by Oak Ridge tonight by 20, I was surprised by that to.

I wasn't surprised by the South Greene loss. I'm not worried about it, either. Oak Ridge has always been tough. They'll win a lot of games this season. South Greene is young and somewhat inexperienced. They start three juniors and two sophomores. Morristown West beat South Greene three times in 2015 and Oak Ridge beat them in the Ladies Classic the following year. All that proves is that even though SG has trouble against AAA schools, they were still capable of going on to win two Class A state titles those two years. I'm not forecasting the same success for SG this season, but I believe by tournament time, they'll be much improved.

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
