The Elementary School was the Eagleton Eagles. It was originally 1-8 (no K back then) When they built the Jr. High they became the Royals (royal blue/white) and the Elementary remained the Eagles. Colors black/white.  Bearden Bears?

Bearden Junior High Bruins.

Columbia blue and red.

Royals sounds like wussie name plus there isn't anything Royal about a Rockford Redneck anyway if you get what I mean. Eagles would be a great name or Bulldogs in memory of the old Everett High School which a lot of 60 year old plus Blount County Natives attended that live on that side of the county, even the county mayor who loves to get his picture in the paper all the time went to Everett. We can even say he came up with the idea so he can get his picture in there another time.

Eagleton Jr. High has a big reunion group/alumni association, that meets quite often.

 

PS: The county mayor was there.

Greenback seems to be doing pretty well.   Three state championship appearances in 2015, 2016 and 2017. State championship in football in 2017 and state championship in baseball last year.  Some greenback addressed are actually in Blount County. Why are they not complaining about losing kids to Alcoa or Maryville? Really interested to hear an answer.

 Its about building community ties to a school that kids want to be a part of and eventually send their own children to the same school.

By the way the 2007 team lost 30-0 in the 2nd round of the playoffs and ended up 9-3.

No they were called the Vikings.

I used to wear my Maryville Bears jersey to school at Eagleton, among all the Vikings. Most of my grade ended up at Alcoa. A RB and WR ended up at MHS.
