Play clock is 25.
credit to Gordonsville. They are pushing us around.

our defense has held Gordy to around 30 yards in first half

Do you notice it's 40 now? It's 25 just select times.

Our defense is playing well, but our offense isnt helping at all. SP is sending more than we can block,  and we run 1 screen and no hot routes.

All year we've done 40 as soon as play is over. 25 on stopped plays like incomplete and starts when ref whistles

Why is every one of our pass plays 30 yards downfield?

I thought defensive holding was auyomatic 1st down.

I thought the play clock was 40 seconds.

Both a 40-second and a 25-second play clock are used. Unless the game is stopped for administrative reasons (e.g., change of possession, penalty, injury, clock error, etc.), the offensive team has 40 seconds to snap the ball after the previous play ends. After administrative stoppages, a 25-second play clock is used.

That's what I thought.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
