Mannn I went back and watched like the last 7 minutes of the game and all it did was piss me off. I guess I was expecting the teams to be better. It’s like Peabodys whole team and fairleys coaches were playing hot potato with who wanted to lose more. #7 and #4 for Peabody are the real deal though 4 has a nasty stiff arm I think I remember him from the state game last year. I didn’t watch the whole game so I didn’t see much from Wilkins but I suspect if Peabody plays the way they did last night they will lose to TC or meigs. Any word on what happened to baugus he made a nice grab for a Qb And I thought I read somewhere that fairley brought a large crowd but it didn’t seem that way?? Crazy game though I wish I could’ve been there.

They didn’t bring a big crowd but I guess it’s big for Memphis. They had 50 people compared to the usual 2 from Memphis.

I think the turning point of the game was when Peabody was up 14-8 driving the ball up the gut all the way down the field to about the 10 yard line. Then Peabody got fancy and instead of going north and south they went east / West and Fairley had too much speed. Peabody turned the ball over on downs. If Peabody kept pounding up the middle I believe they would of won in regulation. The OT TD was straight up the middle for 10 yards end of game. Fairly Coach only made one mistake and that was the late pass that Cooper intercepted. The fumble in V formation was simply a fumble. Very tough loss and I must add I was impressed with the sportsmanship by players on both sides throughout the whole game.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
