He has a broken ankle so it will be 6 weeks or so. He has to go back to the doctor this week for a MRI to make sure that there is no ligaments torn.

My thoughts on this game is pretty simple. LC’s line of scrimmage won the game. Zero adjustments by GB on defense. Why would we not have our lineman go up field blows my mind. LC’s game plan was no different than SP’s game plan on D. Get pressure on the QB. Braden ran for his life the entire game.

Sorry to hear that, praying for a speedy recovery

Lol I bet you would. How about SP getting on there schedule lol. Train reck for both of us lol.

Honestly, why wouldn’t either team schedule Alcoa? I’ve asked this question a couple times before.
Yes, I’ve seen the “Beast from the East” play in person. I also realize there’s no downside to playing them!
You lose, hey you lost to Alcoa but you gained some great experience!
You win and well, you beat Alcoa and gained great experience!
So again, where’s the down side in playing Alcoa?

Pujo had a good time this year looking forward to next year week 1, I do hate it for GB, Meigs didn't matter. And you always play the 9th a10th grade card lol. Got one more year with Alcoa hope things change love to play GB again then me and Roy could team up.

Look forward to week 1 also Harley, think its a good measuring stick. Loved when you were in our region,Some fun games. Its crazy how good some of these 1 and 2a teams can be. This was probably you're best team in a long time and I highly doubt you could beat the champs in either division. As far as teaming up with anyone, just not my thing, I state my opinion and it hasn't changed ,was tickled to death to see Greenback lose. Has nothing to do with any of their kids, just the way they go about building there teams. I didn't realize this has been the norm forever, the quality  of players they,ve got the last several years just stood out like a sore thumb. With age comes wisdom and I've learned a lot over the years, winning state championships is fine and dandy and its the goal of many teams, but the real goal should be teaching the right values to make Great  adults to feed into our society. This winning at all cost is way out of hand and actually a way overrated. This foolish stuff starts before these younguns are 10 years old these days.

Just figured back from 2007-2013 when we achieved 2 golds and 3 silvers everyone was saying we should and we were like NO WAYYYYY!  Lol.  Now that GB has earned themselves a little “dynasty” status, that we all should shift that to them LOL.  It’s not a good idea for either team lol, just making a joke.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
