Sounds like Alabama is taking a common sense approach. Moving forward while taking precautions, planning for prevention on buses to games, etc.
District12AA
People do not realize the TSSAA can only govern by the rules set by the state of Tennessee. Since Gov. Lee's executive order the TSSAA literally cannot allow the HS football season to start on time. Frustration should go to Gov. Lee, not the TSSAA. There is nothing in the order that prevents them from starting on time. It's a TSSAA protocol decision.

AAU and baseball/ softball leagues are continuing with business as usual. TSSAA jumped up and volunteered for their lockdown. You can go down his executive order and name dozens of violations statewide. There are no penalties to the violations. I'd blame governor 75% and TSSAA 25% for this one. If the governor sits in his mansion and lets 25000 protestors vandalize and burn parts of Nashville what's he going to do to 400 people at a high school football game?

Schools will be open one way or the other, even if it's a hybrid mix of in person and virtual classes.

Non-contact sports (defined in the order) are permissible. "Contact sporting events and activities are prohibited under this Order; provided, that collegiate and professional sporting events and activities may be conducted if permitted by, and pursuant to, the rules or guidelines of their respective governing bodies. Noncontact sporting events and activities, and spectating for such events and activities, are permissible subject to applicable social distancing provided for herein." https://publications.tnsosfiles.com/pub/execorders/exec-orders-lee38.pdf Edited July 8, 2020 by OldRebel2

When you consider the horrible public school rankings in AL and the fact they elected Roy Moore twice as Chief Justice of AL, I would prefer our leaders over their leaders any day. Seems like, not only a double standard, but it opens the door for lawsuits like crazy. Are we not all humans that are living in the world with this virus?? Makes no sense to exempt anyone if it's so dangerous.
