Are we going to shut down the economy to save people during flu season? Fact is this has killed less people in Tennessee then the flu does annually. Facts show it is not as dangerous as advertised. It doesnt matter how many people test positive for it. It matters how many people are hospitalized and die from it. You can count the number on your hand how many healthy people have died from it under 40. And most of those had underlying conditions.

They are millions Of Americans with underlying conditions. So it’s very important to try to get it this under control till they can find something to help them. If losing 1 year of high school sports could save 1 life it would be worth it.

I'm more into football and facts than politics. But yes the Covid relief bill contains financial incentives for healthcare facilities. The bill also contains financial incentives for unemployment by adding $600 a month to the state's unemployment packages. President hasn't railed on that either even though the unemployment numbers are through the roof.

It’s absolutely not worse now...not at all! We had 209 deaths reported yesterday, a new low since mid-March...down 92.7% in death rate! That’s tremendous but it’s hard to overcome the barrage of the panicked media which loves to stoke the fear in a crucial election year. Young people who protested and live life in general are getting this virus in bigger numbers, yet not getting sick much or feeling any effects. Numbers are up, but no big deal....deaths are way down! Good news. Facts ironically get lost in these biased political times.

How do you know it will save lives? People are protesting. People are going to walmart. Most retail is open restaurants are open. Nfl and ncaa games are going to happen. You really think with all that high school football is going to be the saving grace? Lol. Nah....Go picket to close wal mart or the protestors coming in from all over and standing shoulder to shoulder. Those are more dangerous then football. Its never going to get under control. Just like the flu. Best thing is to build up a natural immunity to it while these kids are young.

If we lower the speed limit to 20, we could save all high school age lives in the country! But we won’t. Why is the virus saving lives more important than vehicles saving lives?! By the way, car accidents kill light years more teenagers in a given four month period...it’s obviously not even comparable because it’s such a vast difference. Kids have a better shot at getting struck by lightning than dying of this virus. Life is filled with risks and this isn’t worthy to even mention as a risk. Common sense. Play ball.

High School AAU Basketball in full swing in Indianapolis all week this week. Lot of the South there including TN with fans. What do you think about that?? Does it make you mad??

Shout out to the coach at Halls. He is one who is taking action to try to ensure the kids will have a season.

Great. They have plenty of time with the new date to start practice.

Most football coaches or school administrators aren’t “trained” to deal with infectious diseases. In this case where T$$AA is deferring to individual schools and school systems, much of the burden for decisions is being put on these coaches. I’m sure they also realize they will receive most of the blame if things go south and people above them will take any available credit. There should be a better way. Where are the public health experts in our area? They might be best to propose a plan to get football AND SCHOOL going again.
