Posted this in the other thread, but almost every bordering State has announced football to start on time.

Bama also has some good guidelines...

This article linked on CoachT says MS will probably be delaying the season at best

No we can talk about politics as long as we all agree. But when someone starts challenging that point of view with actual facts instead foxnews facts. You all start saying we need to stick to football.

Fact, the reason why we are in this mess is cause we Don Not Have A National Plan To Combat Covid-19 Period. You know why we don’t have a national plan. Because Trump thinks any plan will damage his chances of getting re-elected.

We get it, you don't like President Trump.  Go to MSNBC.com to vent.  Political talk is unnecessary on these boards.

Remember that time when the President ordered a halt to travel from China and other trouble spots and Nancy Pelosi and the reest of the dems called him racist and encouraged her constituents to come to Chinatown and have a huge street party?

Yeah, didn't thin so.

POTUS will be fine.  It's the dems who need negative covid news to dominate the news cycle.  Continuing to hide their candidate in his own basement isn't going to work.

Good article. Love Louisiana's (LHSAA) response to the legislator trying to delay football!

This is the problem with a regular start time. Some local districts are not going to want to start tackle football when cases are going up.  Those local districts might might be more than happy to hold starting practice until August 31st in hopes of cases going down.  I think that you might see some districts balk at a normal start time and cancel out of fear/concern. An abbreviated season might be a compromise that helps local districts feel more at ease with giving  the go ahead to start actual football.  Remember that just because the Governor and the TSSAA say you can play football the final decision lies with the individual school districts and just like Governor Lee's decision and the TSSSA's decisions are being driven by liability concerns so will local districts.  Lower case numbers, hospitalization numbers and deaths would help ease those concerns.

*Please keep your political opinions out of this.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
