Most of these high schools need to be getting their acts together real quick and announcing how they plan on doing the seating instead of having large numbers of fans showing up at the gate being turned away. I have seen very little regarding this issue and those schools are going to have a large number of upset people on their hands Friday night come 7 PM. This is total BS on these schools part. Shouldn't have to hear it through the grapevine.

This first Friday night is going to be a total logistical mess, Barney. Hopefully, we'll have a lot of this stuff figured out for next week, but I think it's going to be trial and error this week, for the most part.

Just to be blunt about it, the social distance rule was recommended and won’t be enforced for a lot, IMO. I also think you will have kids with Covid that will not get tested as well. Kids will stop getting tested and fight it own their own. No way these kids are going to get a Covid test for a runny nose or a scratchy throat and have the team set for two weeks or foe however long the test is . Just my opinion but it is what it is.

That's how I read it as well.

Very strange the mandatory county wide mask mandate and the K-12 school mask mandate for every student, employee, and visitor in Rutherford County didn't prevent this.

People have ignored the mask mandate in Rutherford County.  Home Depot, Lowes, Kroger, Circle K, etc. None of them enforce it.  Walmart, Publix, Target have tried.  Sams Club in Murf. does not.

That's what people say about socialism. People aren't doing it right is the reason it doesn't work but let's keep trying.

Wearing a mask during a pandemic is hardly socialism.  People did it in 1918 and socialism didn't take over.

Talk about "fear mongering."  Ignorance seems to be perfected in this state.

So, let me get this right...if the mask mandate is clearly not working and helping the numbers, then it's the businesses' fault? Do we know where people are getting the virus?? How is this proven?? It's the businesses' fault for not being more strict though! Businesses in Rutherford County are bad, but evidently not as bad in other counties? Those sorry people in Rutherford County! Good grief.

The University of Notre Dame is moving all undergraduate instruction online for two weeks, and Michigan State University is going fully remote for the semester.

He said 146 students and one staff member have tested positive for the virus since Aug. 3.  He added that seniors living off-campus account for a large share of the cases, and most infections are coming from "off-campus gatherings where neither masks were worn nor physical distancing observed."  Over the weekend, university officials released an alert that the people infected at two off-campus parties have since infected their close contacts.

Except for the doctor's office,I've not been anywhere in NET that the mask was enforced , including voting ..... I watched Fulmer talking about getting  I think he said 25% or 25,000 into Neyland, either way half a dozen or 6 point  something. That's going to be Just like a high school game, except a whole lot more folks will be very unhappy. I'd guess to even have folks  in Neyland sitting six feet apart in all directions would bring that number way on down closer to 5 thousand if that. That's probably the number of police alone that it would take to enforce making 25000 UT fans keep a mask on if it's required.

I think  for now ETSU classes are all online and nothing happening with sports this fall.Off campus gathering is 100% garanteed with college age students.

Friends, once again, we can completely stop this virus by removing the host-to-host spreading by doing the following:       Every person within the US borders is sequestered inside their homes, no going outside for anything, no exceptions.   No going out to mow your lawn or get the newspaper, no cars on the roads, no sticking your arm out the door to see what the temp is.... NOBODY OUTSIDE THEIR HOMES PERIOD NO-EXCEPTIONS.     If we did that between now and the end of the year the virus would die off.

I didn't say mask wearing is socialism. I used socialism as an analogy to your mask excuse. Some individuals wail about mandatory masking and when it's mandated and the effects of the virus don't improve or get worse they claim people did not wear the masks correctly so we need more government to enforce it. Same thing when socialism fails the wannabe socialists in the other countries claim they were not doing it right.

Actually if that worked and nobody came into the country, it would be over in a couple of weeks.BUT, as everyone likes to compare it to the flu, it's going to jump back up like Tyson Fury did  a couple of fights ago, just when you thought he was beat. Also , that little problem of when there are no police and what will happen in about half a second. Not to count all the other things people will post.
