Mr. Football Candidates!

TSSAA sent out ballot requests to media yesterday.   I always rely heavily on you guys to give us names of kids we may not of seen in person this year.   I assure you, every name you provide (with stats to back it up) will be considered by me and Lee.   I take this seriously because I want to do my part to make sure the most deserving kids get on the ballot.

Just drop a name, number if you know it and stats.   It greatly helps to have the players number when casting these ballots.

Thanks

Jordan Cason  and Jordan Carter for H2O are having Mr. Football kind of years.

I have them now

Cason (# 3) 73 carries 726 yards 9.9 y/c average 10 TD’s 69 tackles, 108 receiving yards, 4 caused fumbles

Carter ( #9) 69 carries 469 yards 6.8 y/c 7 TD’s.. 111 tackles ( 13 for loss) 2 sacks, 1 int , 3 caused fumbles

These numbers would be through the roof if they weren’t only playing one half of a ball game most weeks!

Baliles and Frame from South Pittsburg are the top two on my list!

Will Meadows #34 Meigs County

Great kid. Worked extremely hard in the off-season with the goal of helping the team not only get back to the 2A Championship but win it.

Also waited his turn first couple of years behind all-state rb Martin Smith and 3 time Mr. Football candidate and winner Swafford.

Unsure of actual numbers but around 1000 yards rushing and over 10 TD's in six games. Probably couple hundred yards receiving out of backfield also.

Maybe someone can help with the actual #'s

    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
    • The lawsuit requests a jury trial. Sable Winfree has extremely competent legal representation. FYI - her lawyer represented the Warren County school system for years, and I believe he knows what constitutes a reasonable lawsuit.
