I can tell you right now that McMinn County didn’t want any part of Dobyns Bennett. You’ve played 1 good run defense all season and look what happened that game. I could argue DB’s front 7 is just as good as Maryville against the run. Jalen Hunt is in the top 5 rushing nationally only because of that trash schedule. I thought DB had a bad schedule until I looked at McMinn’s.

Sequoyah 0-10

McMinn Central 1-9

Heratige 2-8

Notre Dame 3-7

William Blount 4-6

Ooltewah 4-6

Bearden 4-7 (twice)

Cleveland 5-6

Can't really bash Mcminn about there non region games because when they made the schedule in 2018 these teams where

Notre Dame 9-2

Bearden 8-3

Sequoyah 5-5

McMinn Central 4-6 (Money game)

I think the TSSAA will need to be VERY careful on this. It will set a precedent for this type of situation going forward. I hate to even suggest this, but what if a team and their health Dept conspired to advance their team by using Covid? That needs to be addressed in this decision as well. This whole situation is just crazy. Both teams were prepared to play. An outside source affected the game. Who is punished and who benefits? And what does the decision mean for the rest of the state? I get the feeling THIS DECISION will be remembered, studied and debated for many years to come. It could be a black eye or a shining moment for high school football. Or maybe both....

It is a shame that all players/teams have not been playing by the same rules as far as Covid protocol....If TSSAA lets DB move on and play it would mean that they agree with SCHD and would have to enforce this protocol for the rest of the playoffs, which will mean that we will not make it to the championship games.  I just talked to a player last Saturday that told me his team has had 16 kids test positive in the last few weeks....needless to say if that team had handled things the way SCHD expected MC to handle them, they would have never finished the season.

There are some McMinn Co. Karen’s that are blaming the anonymous call on Maryville in the ole Facebook. Karen said they were set up to beat Maryville. She forgot how we shut their offense out at their place.

Pretty funny, but where has it been established (besides internet rumors) that there was an anonymous call?  McMinn's coach said they found out about a positive test on the way to the game.  I'm assuming he's not talking about from an anonymous caller.
