And yet, in the last 3 years, their record against each other is 2-2.  In 2018, they played twice and split.  Last year, Maryville won.  This year, Oakland won.  When's the last time that any team besides Maryville held Oakland scoreless in an entire game, like last year?

Congrats to Oakland , clearly the better team ... Congrats to our seniors who accomplished more than about 98% of all the other teams in the State ... Including the teams of all the haters out there .. you guys enjoy it ... funny how you all have to latch onto another team to claim that Victory over Maryville ... That's fine I'd rather have haters and win 6 of the soon to be 12 6A State Championships ... than never even get to the Game .

The worst azz whipping we have ever had in modern time football going back to when Everett High beat Maryville 59-0 in 1957. I'm not bashing our team but Oakland is just loaded with top notch athletes that will play at the next level. Had a feeling it might get ugly but didn't expect this. There really isn't a team in Tennessee that could of done any better tonight. Oakland is just in a very good situation far as material to build a football team and has a very good coach. One thing for sure when Maryville does get beat it reminds me of all of the Munchkins coming out of their hiddy holes when the house fell on the wicked witch. All I got to say is enjoy because this don't happen that often.

Congrats and good luck to Oakland. It looked like a mismatch. #2 is a difference maker for the winners. #1 played great for the losers. Murvil seniors have won a bunch of games the past 4 yrs. I hope 5 and 55 are ok.
