Maybe I’m just sandbagging.  Any time I’ve been too confident in the finals, it has come back to bite me

Understand that. I was confident we would win a couple years ago after watching our opponent  but sometimes a lesser team pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

@Roy Dillard,  with this being the 2nd game of the day on Friday at 3pm,  do you think Grider will let our boys go up on Thursday and stay overnight?

I heard @powerp and @pegleg will be responsible for bed check if we do.

If Grider does he is not being smart.  We lost in 2009,2011 and 2013 cause powerp made the other teams real mad and those college girls kept our boys out late.  You think im joking but im not.

That team was great as well. Was it Dresden in 2016 that won 1A? That team wasn’t gonna be beat either. 2010 SP as well. They got beat by Polk 42-7 in the regular season, carried that anger to the championship and won 41-7. Several teams lately that weren’t gonna be beat and I think this years SP team is another one.

Yes Dresden in ‘16 was a tough one. I’m one of the younger posters on here. That was my senior year in ‘16 vs Dresden.

You can't compare scores like most are doing. Fayetteville passes the eye test. Yes, we are playing well but they are no slouch for sure. I will say one thing, our boys have been looking for this opportunity for a while and are ready.

The score comparing, especially from the regular season is ridiculous, teams improve a lot over the course of the season and the playoffs is a whole new animal. I personally seen a team beat a team 49-0 in the regular season and then lose to that same exact team 49-0 in the playoffs.....

Nope. I watched them play Peabody in the semis. Bituli and company were MEN!

In the first quarter, we ran gut in the A gap. Brant Lawless (the nose guard) tackled me, the center, and the fullback all-in-one for a loss. We had some pretty big guys on our team for a 1A school. Probably one of the biggest that year... with the exception to NCS. Pretty sure they had at least 5+ D1 guys on the field every snap. They had substitutes coming in the game that I played with in college if that tells you anything. We thought we were big and fast until we stepped on the field with them.

We are looking at Fayetteville against huntland 2 weeks ago struggling mightily, where as we beat them by 49. Huntland may have gotten a bit better not 1 million times better.

They were..maybe had a couple out for tracing I think.  Another example of playing to our opponent I guess.  I will say we held the mr football candidate below 100 I believe.  Did he play when yall had them?  He got hurt early in our first game but not sure how long he was out

I think you are going to see what Mr. Football looks like

You refer to past scores way too much, even if it was 2 weeks ago, matchups are different and there are many more variables to consider, just saying.....

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
