I see where Blackman is looking for assistants. Any staff members staying or are they cleaning house?

He has said on more than one occassion and in several interviews "I am going to get the best coaching staff I can in place be it new coaches, and a mix of current staff."  Sounds like he has some coaches in mind ( Matt Daniels )

Daniels would be interesting no doubt. Seems like they are good buddies and Daniels was very successful. I would think having a previous head coach on staff would be a good idea in terms of general day to day operational knowledge.

He had some success, but ultimately, discipline kept Ravenwood from reaching their full potential. No way that 2019 team should have gotten blown out by Maryville, and no way should they have lost to Franklin this past year. Got out coached in both games, and discipline was a major problem.

As far as Creasy goes, he is a very good (great) person and coach. He also surrounds himself with loyal, hard working, knowledgeable assistants. But..... he also isn't hurting for talent.

Some of the best coaches in the state have had similar circumstances. Look at Rankin and Quarles. Same formula.

But there are plenty of head coaches and staffs that are just as good and work just as hard but might not get the same results due to talent. They go hand in hand. JMO

In your opinion why do you consider Creasy to be great?

I start with the fact that he's been there 6 years hasn't lost a game to a Rutherford county opponent yet. He has also never lost to a Tennessee team outside of Maryville. 3 state Championships at Trousdale and they haven't won one since he has been gone. I would say that is pretty great. Yes, he's had great talent, but coaching and program development plays a major role in that. I also disagree with you saying his scheme is very simple. I have a coaching friend in Williamson county who says his scheme is one of the hardest to prepare for. He uses more formations than anyone, and really uses 3 schemes: Wing T, Pro I, and Spread. That's my opinion.

The WingT is a simple scheme but also very difficult to stop.  Maybe that is why he is so good is that he doesn't complicate things.  I also believe that he has u deniable talent to work. More than any other team. I also think that the fact that he has been caught cheating (and from what has been reported he does recruit etc) does tarnish his reputation.  So my next question to you would be so you think that many coaches around TN would have won with the level of talent that he has been blessed to Coach the last couple of years?

McDaniel had very similar talent. In 2014 I think almost the entire defense went on to play college ball. When McDaniel was there,  he was abut 500 against Blackman and Riverdale. Creasy has made Oakland a true monopoly in Rutherford County.I can't really speak to the recruiting if I don't have evidence. There's always allegations out there. There was when McDaniel was the coach also. Yes, there are many great coaches out there that don't have the talent of Oakland. In my county, I think of schools like Brentwood, Independence, and Franklin. All three of those coaching staffs do a great job with less talent.  Ron Crawford and Scott Blade would have similar success with that talent, because they are great coaches. We can say the same thing in college football about Nick Saban. People don't hold the fact that he has great talent against him. He does a great job of program building and developing players. Two things can be true. You can have great players and be a great coach.

He has won state championships in more than one classification.

He knows how to assemble experienced staffs. Look how many former head coaches have been on his sideline. It says alot that Jackson has remained on staff with him.

He knows how to sell his team, his school, and himself. His former players return because they respect him.

He runs the wingT out of multiple sets.

Everyone said you cannot win at the highest level running the wingT. He proved them wrong.

That McDaniels guy only won 1 ring. Many say he inherited the 08 talent and did not develop it.

Yes, I am a Trousdale fan and Creasy fan. I saw him put hours in at practice when other coaches were home on the couch.

I would agree with that.  I just believe athletes make coaches and not the other way around.
