Will the new Vols coach help the smaller schools?

Just curious on your thoughts. He has a different style of offense than what Tennessee has ever had. Do you think that will give some of the smaller schools a chance to get players recruited? I've seen a lot of fast skilled offensive players in  1-A and 2-A that just don't get the stars because they are a small school.

They don’t get stars because they don’t have the physical measurements to play at the DI power 5 level. Genetics plays a large role in recruitment.

In college, everybody offensive skilled player is fast, unless your name is Jauan Jennings

If the kid is good enough they will recruit them regardless of the school.

as if all those 3,4, and 5 stars they have gotten the last 4 or 5 years have worked out.

Anyone that watches 99% of 1 or 2A football teams and thinks top 10 D1 talent is either a parent or is football illiterate. That’s why D1 college coaches are rarely there. If people think I’m wrong, then me and Nick Sabin are both idiots. UT hasn’t been top 10, but that’s where they better get to or Heupel will be fired in three years.

Yeah, I also know there is that occasional outlier kid. We can all name them. I will get the party started for the nit pickers...Patrick Willis.

Yep. Only D1 level kid we’ve had in years is our punter / RB from the last few seasons. They found him in Oneida in a Covid year (for punter not RB). Had several G5 offers and a PWO at UT along with the other small school offers. If you’re talented enough and have a hudl account they’ll find you.

    • Yes region 1 is extremely weak but a # 5 seed out of region 2 has no business in the playoffs either.
    • They've had some great talent over the years. They usually don't whip no one but can be tough to stop on offence.
    • Could be a lot of reason from what I’ve seen so far.  The lights wouldn’t turn on at Smyrna last night and had to move games to Blackman could be a reason or maybe he is talking about how on some of the games on NFHS network the camera placement was absolutely asinine. ( had a camera set up right in front of a net and couldn’t see crap)
    • If Gordonsville can manage getting through these next 2 games without using him it will be ideal. ER was the last team to not have to pitch their #1 till the state championship i believe. Worked out well for them but they also had one of the best 1A staffs of all time that year. Only allowed one run the whole tournament and it was in the 7th inning.
    • And he’s not even their #1. Lights out performance. Gordonsville is in the drivers seat with their #1 arm available throughout the tournament.
