I expect Greeneville to beat South Side if they play them by 30+

Bolivar's coach is one of the best, he's been there/done that plenty at Murfreesboro and the tournament atmosphere that affects most teams wouldn't have been a factor. They stayed relatively close to JSS because he's very familiar with the Hawks and what they do, and that could be the case with the Devils too. JSS will present problems for Greeneville that athletically Bolivar couldn't though, and if they come out hot from range, it could be a double digit game within the first three minutes. South Side's speed is tough to adjust to, and Greenville better come out of warm up's with a sweat going.

If Greenville (or anyone else) eliminates South Side, it'll be because they withstood the runs, and slowed the game down.

I'd have to agree, just based on the Greeneville/Bolivar score alone. I'm not usually a "fan" of the run and gun type team...they're fun to watch, very impressive when they have the athletes, but fundamentals and discipline usually eliminates "loosey goosey" teams when you get down to the best in state. In this case however , SS is well coached and absolutely loaded with speed and basketball IQ. If they have a flaw, it's the lack of a dominant big.

Very astute call. Sounds like you've watched a game or two...ha. I'm the same way too, I am a fan of run and gun especially with good athletes, but at the end of the day, it's the small things that puts the team over the top.

JSS can be beat if you don't turn it over.

They don't shoot it great, they get out of position on D, they aren't particulalry good at blocking out.

As soon as their points are taken away from the press and TOs on the half court they're very vulnerable.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
