I hated to see ya lose Ryan, you probably won't see another offensive mind like him.  Greenback will be Greenback, I don't see ya going down the path of Wartburgism.  The community has to much pride to allow that to happen.  We are likely to meet again in the playoffs.  Cloudland could be a threat this year though for they always leave it on the field.

I think they can back it up this year. They control the line of scrimmage and honestly thats both our weaknesses.CF nor GB can line up and run it at you, they can.We will see usually either one of us can out athlete them, just not sure at this point.

One Ball isnt a culture!!!!!!! Their other Gold Balls was long ago, changing it to kids being pillars in the community as they become young adults, no coach worth his salt just wins ball games !!!

I don't disagree but Puckett had a Championship Culture in place. He may have won 1 ball but there's no doubt in my mind they win last year if he stayed. Point being it's much easier to build upon Championship culture than to just build anew.

Just my two cents but I don't think McKenzie has anything for Trenton or City. They are a very good team and would most likely represent the west in any other year. Trenton & City are just a different level. Anything can happen though.

Honestly if they all played each other 3 times you might get different results every time. Talent levels are very similar imo.

Southtown would you agree that past the top 3 all anyone else has at a Gold Ball is a punchers chance ?!

Yall are the favorites,  that much I'll agree to.

I do think the West has the best 3 teams right now.

Also, I do think Gordonsville is the favorite to represent the East.   If we face them it'll either be a 2nd rd game (if Clay wins region 4)  or most likely the qrt final (if Gordonsville wins region 4).  Either way we will get them at home.

In the upper quad I'd like to hear from @pujo and hear his take on Cloudland.  As long as Cloudland is in the playoffs they'll hold homefield over anyone through out the playoffs and be the home team in Chattanooga.

Can anybody in the east derail South Pitt from making it back? I know clay co has a good ball club them and Gordonsville should be a intriguing game to end the season with the region on the line

I think Gordonsville will rep the East.

Honestly,  there's gonna be some good tough battles on both sides of the bracket.

I'm not pujo but I firmly believe Cloudland has a very good chance at a Semi final birth.Their strength is their line play and RBs.CF like us are not strong up front. One of us maybe able to out athlete them but neither one of us can run it like Cland.

Whoever is in the semi-finals south of us will be the one who represents the east. The teams up here have nothing for you all.

There is one anomaly to this situation though if Cloudland does make it and they host a game on Roan Mountain and the conditions are not very good a fast team will not fare well on that field!

Especially if they leave the sprinklers on all night and day before the game.  It could possibly be a skating rink up there by the time semis roll around.

They will host the Semis if they make it there.

Ask me how I know.lol

Worst conditions I've ever witnessed at Cloudland was a Midway game ,had nothing to do with sprinklers, was soooooo bad they had to ply at HV the next week. Think Cloudland did use the sprinklers against you guys one time, think that was the only time its ever happened.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
