Awefully quiet in here. Stanks gonna get it this Friday….

This is the first year in a while, I think, that Huntingdon fans aren't necessarily going into this game with the expectation of winning.

I think we CAN win this game, but no doubt about it Mustangs are the underdogs here. Between us soundly beating Riverside and Milan getting the breaks beat off them by Haywood, I feel like we have a chance. We need to play a good, clean game with no turnovers and we probably need a bounce or two to go our way.

No sandbagging here. We are very banged up. You guys should be the favorite if you are at full strength. We are down a few starters and that will sting.

Milan winning against Peabody and S Gibson is 2 good wins. Most everyone in the state would lose to Haywood. It was by a large margin though. From the outside looking in I don’t know what to expect from the bulldogs. I think Huntingdon started figuring things out since the second half of the S Side game. They’ve looked like a different team. I don’t know if adjustment were made after a game and a half or the younger ones figured out they could hit back.

I feel like the Mustangs match up well with the Bulldogs. Huntingdon's strength, the power running game has given Milan trouble all season. Mustangs are gonna line up and run right at you all night. To have a chance to stop the Mustang onslaught the Dawgs have got to sell out somewhere else. Look for the Mustangs to make some big plays off the play off play action. This could be a high scoring contest if Milan can protect the QB. Mustang defense has played very well against the run. Our big nose tackles are making it tough going up the middle and our linebackers are very active. Secondary has improved, but I expect some big plays from Milans QB. I know I'm in the minority but I think the Mustangs take this one.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
