I’m going out on a limb here. Everyone that post know I’m a die hard Waverly fan but also a die hard high school football fan also. If you guys think this is going to be a blowout you are sadly mistaken! Much respect for both programs. I think the running game for Huntingdon is going to be naturalize by Riverside. My question is I’m wondering if Mustang coaches can call that pass play at the right time. Also can Riverside keep from turning the ball over with the blitzing from Huntingdon? I would bet you will see a flea-flicker or two from Riverside. I have seen Riverside self implode in the big lights but not Huntingdon. I watched the last semifinal game Huntingdon had with LC and they did not lay down. They got beat but keep playing with their all. I honestly think it comes down to the coaches game plan. I look forward to seeing one of these two teams in Waverly next year!

I’m picking Riverside with a coin flip!

May see a couple of Gibson Co teams in Waverly next year.

Yea but we aren’t. Give these two teams credit for making it this far. Riverside was my week one pick and Huntingdon won me over. Two great teams. Waverly will get their shot at one of these two in the coming years. We can’t seem to beat Huntingdon for some reason. 2017 was one of the best games I watched. @Croppygenius wouldn’t you agree?

One of those who has the ball last wins type game. Two great quarterbacks going at it. Numerous great plays, great game to watch.

Biggest game of the year so far for these two teams and hardly any chatter on the t.

It seems quiet on all of the topics. A few years back these would be 30+ pages. Only thing anyone is talking about is who is going to coach the powerhouse that is Huntland.

Yea, but I can sit back and wish. Not taking anything away from these 2 teams.

Their is a big difference the amount of posts that are posted when both teams are talking crap. Riverside team and fans alike know they are in a tough game this Friday guess most of the talking will b on the field by both sides

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
