This is about OUR boys. These boys represent Greenback School.  These kids work their #### off and deserve to have 100% fan support.  Put away your pitch forks and support the team. Period.

No it's not about the players. If it was Greg would have been hired no questions asked. This is about a corrupt County Commissioner/ Ex Head Coach and his influence over a selection committee. Any person that publicly or privately states that they will withhold funds from the community if a certain coach is hired should not be allowed to represent the community period.

Neither one. It will be a new county school.

Thanks for update on exact location! Not far from interstate. I had heard North Middle is busting at the seams. I know Loudon HS is getting very crowded & that some county kids were going to LC due to capacity. Maybe you can confirm this. There’s been a ton of growth & new homes built in Loudon County!

Loudon is ok at 760?? A little up. LC with all the new homes coming, they will be exploding! Have you seen all the land they are clearing off at the cross roads and out 321 toward Melton Hill? A lot of new construction coming in LC! I'm so glad it's not in LOUDON!

You can actually teach without a certification. There are situations when a job is created for you and while you are "teaching" you are simultaneously working on getting the certification through the state via a college program.  It is my understanding that Coach Ryan had a job created for him, was in pursuit of said certification and then left for Catholic.

You're right, state regulations allow for non certified hires on a waiver for a maximum of three years while the employee works to become certified. You also can coach without being an employee at all...just have to be "grandfathered" in with a minimum of five years of experience as an assistant, fingerprinted, and background check. On a technicality, non certified hires on waiver are supposed to be with the stipulation that no certified applicant was/is available at the time of the hire, but in the real world it happens all the time.

Sometimes pitchforks are all a rogue school board understands.  Once upon a time, the Marion County School Boards just out  of the blue voted to do away with football at all 3 high schools.  Pitchforks and 10 days later, the football programs were reinstated.  That was in the late 1980s.

They're selling their soul to the devil down there. Those Yankees will come in and pollute the place like locust.

People are conditioned to follow the rules and be good citizens rlh, and sometimes that instills the feeling that they're somehow in the wrong to regress their government. It's not only their right to express their concerns to their public officials, but their obligation. In an ideal world your representative has the best interests of the public as their guide, and acts accordingly...the problem is that public officials are real people with real agendas, and not always in the best interest of the public.

Everyone has their own opinion about consolidation, optimal school size, cost efficiency, ect... my opinion is that there's no better environment for learning than in a small rural setting, and keeping our community schools is absolutely a cause worthy of "good citizens" getting upset about. Good luck to the Greenback community...take some free advice and fight to keep what you have, once it's done it's too late.

I know for a fact that the two from the community never changed their vote! They both voted for Greg Ryan every time there was a vote, or at least the three they new about. So whoever said it was 5 -1 is wrong. Unless you can prove otherwise.

Spoke directly to the principal, Mr. Brookshire, who gave me the info. He is part of selection committee. I am no reason to believe he lied to me. Believe it or not.
