Just saying all classes in general West TN is starting to catch up with the Upper Cumberland. Summertown and Loretto have been really good a while as well. Upper Cumberland has been the king of Gold Balls for a while. Just think a small circle with about a 40 mile radius is catching up. Got 5 Gold Balls in last two years: Westview 2, South Side 1 and McKenzie 2.  And Greenfield, Gibson County, TCA all with Gold Balls in recent years with Greenfield and Gibson County both in Final Four during Covid shutdown. South Side and Westview also has a Silver to go along. Just saying West Tennessee is more than holding it’s own. No disrespect to Summertown and Loretto at all. You know how I feel about them.

West Tn has done rather well over the last couple of years but not catching up per say. Take that same 40 mile radius in the Upper Cumberland

Jackson County 8 Gold 3 silver

Clarkrange 8 Gold 3-4 silver

LA 5 Gold 2-3 Silver

Pickett County 5 Gold 2 Silver? Not sure on the silver side

Clay County 3 Gold 2 silver

Upperman 4 Gold 2-4 Silver

White County has a couple Silver

40 mile radius. Bradford 6 Gold 2-3 Silver, Gibson County 3 Gold 1 Silver, McKenzie 2 Gold,  Greenfield 1 Gold, Westview 3 Gold 2 Silver, Gleason 3 Gold 1-2 Silver, Peabody 2 Gold 1 Silver, Humboldt 2 Gold, Union City 1 Gold, TCA 1 Gold, South Side 1 Gold 1 Silver, JCM 1 Gold, Milan 1 Gold. All within a 40 mile radius.

I agree y’all are a little ahead but you have to say that most of the Gold Balls in recent history in the state are coming from these 2 40 mile radius’ in the Upper Cumberland and West TN.

Please don't downplay what South Side did by saying they got the whistles. Watching all 3 games, they were getting screwed by the refs and found a way to win. Their defense is impeccable and they never gave up. Their game with Elizabethton is a testament to kids who persevere. The championship gane was headed towards a blowout and the officials started blowing the whistle to slow the game down and give LA free throws and SS still found a way. Those kids and coaches earned their championship.

Southside earned this championship. They played the 3 best teams at the tournament and beat them all. Give those girls their due!!!

I agree, the post said Westview won the title in a landslide.  They didn’t, in actuality a whistle DID decide the game.  IF York hit one more 3 or IF Westview hit one more it wouldn’t have mattered.  IF is fantasy, one whistle wasn’t fantasy and did matter.  Either way it wasn’t a landslide.  It was the decision of someone not in a uniform.

They won the state championship by 19 points. That's a landslide stop being a hater. Even more odd stop being a hater at 4 am

lol. Those WV folks keep quiet mostly and they let everyone else do the chirping/hating. What's astounding is that they held every opponent at the Boro to an average of at least 21+ points less than their offensive average coming into to their matchups in the tourney. Offense wins the crowd, defense wins the championships.

The teams that post 60-65 plus points on an average night don't like the games where you have to grind out every possession to get a good look.

WV will be in semi-rebuild next year, but I don't think they'll change their philosophy or their approach.
