Hampton journeys to Eagleton

I have watched the 1st quarter on replay since I went to the Maryville game. Eagleton is a very very young team. Two years from now there will be a major difference in what we're seeing today versus then. Hampton plays old style football from what I see but if that works there's no problem. Loading the box every play will get you burned alive with a really good passing team but your not going to see that many in 2A. Hampton apears to be a real big and physical team with some good running backs that all they need is some good blocking and they can drive down the field like a road gradder. I've only watched the first quarter so far and the rest later today once I take care of a few things.

Thos game went as everybody expected... my question is, why did the starters stay in the whole game? Hampton obviously relies on Burleson a lot so why is he out there playing both sides of the ball during garbage time when you've already had one kid leave on a stretcher?

The only reason the kid left was because of Eagleton's trainer telling him he had to go to the E.R. over a sprained ankle.  #55 was very dirty and Eagletons coaches never said a word to him. Probably one of the worst teams Hampton has played as far as running their mouth. Eagleton wasn't really tackling Buleson so they probably wasn't real concerned.

He didn't play the first two or three ball games or at least until the Oneida game for some disciplinary reason.

Sounds like he needs another time out. No place for kids like that in High school football. Should have been ejected last night and the zebras didn't even throw a flag.

He got ejected in the 1st game.

Eagleton also had 2 kids fighting each other on the sideline in the 1st qtr and both were escorted off the field. They couldn't even line up right vs Oneida.

They were so poorly coached on defense, that 3 or 4 times they lined up wrong on defense. DE would flip to the other side but the other DE stayed. They also would be switching sides when the ball was snapped. Just all out of sorts.

People talk about them becoming a power house, until they get some discipline, they will never be any good.

I really follow Maryville during the season but try and keep an eye on the others the best possible. I have watched the game from last night and fixing to watch the 4th quarter later which should go fast 12 minutes. They fumbled the game away from what I can see so far. Really what you all played was a decent JV team type football program. Never knew what the kid did to get suspended until TSSAAfootball mentioned why. I agree the kid may be a handful to deal with. Some of those kids may never have played before who knows and may be their reaction to a tough game. Biggest reason I like Eagleton is that I know a few involved and I really like Scott West who was once the Maryville Girls basketball coach and handled the NFHS when he was there. He was wronged in my opinion by a Flaming Liberal Principal they brought in at Maryville three years ago that let him go as the coach, not his job though and he decided to move elsewhere to continue coaching basketball at Eagleton. Anyone who loves Maryville loves Scott West. This program will be just like any other start up program and they will have bumps and bruises trying to get there.
