Good move to get someone in there fast before the boat totally sinks. If they had Fiddly Farted around there the Cupboard might have turned up empty when fall practice starts.

It's empty!  They are screwed.  I would be shocked if they even field a team next year, if TSSAA even allows them to field a team next year after the criminal investigation.

They will have a team.  Wouldn't be fair to punish those who had nothing to do with the issue by shutting down the program completely.

TSSAA won't ever issue a death penalty, worst case scenario would be a post-season penalty that makes Clinton ineligible for the playoffs for a year or two (I believe 3 years is the most I have ever seen).  But TSSAA only does that in extremely rare circumstances.

I think this is a good move for them. Bring an experienced coach who is familiar with the program and the kids, so as to keep off season work going without interruption, and be able to prepare for next season, as far as further penalties, I believe the TSSAA said that the fine and game forfeits would be all. This is good damage control and good that it was done promptly.

Jason hammock is a death sentence to Clinton. heck, practice is gonna have to sit until he can get there

It will be hard opening up a restaurant and coaching a High School Football team at the same time but he did take this job as an interm coach to stop the bleed. The program is in scorched earth mode right now and could drop down to the likes of Scott County, Campbell County and Karns if they lose most of their kids out of this.

They'll do it in two situations. One, if they feel embarrassed and something is caught on camera for everyone in the whole state to see. Second, if they feel like they have to stand up for themselves or for someone else (example: a game official). In this case, they arguably don't care because they're receiving around $3,200 dollars in what would be house money to them, and Clinton has already dismissed their previous coach, so they feel obligated to not have to take action.

I think it'll be lazy on TSSAA's part if they don't want to take more action.

Probably the best choice. Former player.

Former players and insiders are the easy hire and the most difficult terminations.  Just hire the very best candidate available and surround them with a great staff and good things will follow.

Rockvale girls won the title by five shots over Providence  Christian 155-`160 after the Lions won the 1913 Invitational at Johnson City by 10 shots over Greeneville. The course was wet and muddy in the morning but the rain finally broke and some good scores were had. The Webb School boys had Phet Phothong score a 69 while Carter  Burks shot 70 following up his 72 in Johnson City on Monday. The girls had Solia Mechling of Rockvale lead the way with a 73 in taking the title as they improved their score by 30 shots over Monday in East Tennessee as they found the homestead Indian Hills to their liking.  Rockvale and Central Magnet will head to the Battle of Hermitage on Wednesday July 31st. On Tuesday Stewarts Creek and Smyrna will do battle at Smyrna Golf Course  with an early tee time of 11 AM. The next day Oakland, Webb and Nolensville will tee off at Champions Run beginning at 9 AM.
