I know for a fact the 22 State Team used their own players except maybe 2   They all started at AC as Freshman.

All the players played at Lake City Middle or Norris Middle except for 3 kids.   Price brothers shut down the pipeline from CC to AC.   I'm an Oak Ridge guy but I have to give AC their props.   I'm getting my info from an AC guy who is a friend   Hopefully he's telling me the truth.

Maybe they did that year, I don’t know (of course an AC fan will say they didn’t), but it’s a well known fact that they’ve been recruiting, getting transfers, poaching, whatever you wanna call it for decades now. But hey, everyone is doing it now, I guess. Is what it is. Big reason why I’ve lost a significant amount of interest in high school football the past few years. It’s not the same hometown game I grew up loving anymore. About the only pure football league out there anymore is probably the Pee-Wee leagues, and they’re probably even transferring in those leagues now. Parents just don’t teach their children about loyalty anymore - it has trickled down to every level. People will literally sell their souls to win football games, no matter what level.

Let’s be real, AC has never played with “their own” players. They’ve been stealing Campbell County’s talent since the early to mid 90s. And Clinton’s, too, to be honest. When they did play with their own players, throughout the 80s, they were awful.

What is “ their own” and when do you have to start at the school to be one ? It’s no secret that jobs at the plants were used as “enticers” for families to come to OR in the 1950s through the early 1990s. They all didn’t move inside the city to avoid the “ out of city “ tuition cost.

JJ’s Twitter says “@FHSCoachJones” so Fulton or Farragut?

He's never changed that since his days at Fulton.

He's on the Catholic staff now.

And Bearden has canceled it's contract to play Catholic this fall.

No sir, Bearden didn’t, catholic has been wanting to cancel the game since JJ was in the office, the new coach got here and granted Catholic what they wanted (that or TSSAA approved Catholics request) that does not mean Bearden canceled the game… but I’m sure the new coach wasn’t to mad about it.

Yeah.  Bearden cancelled it.

From one inside the building at Bearden who is in a position to know.

Will it be a forfeit cancelling this late? Doesn’t leave Catholic much of a chance to pick up a game.

No.  Not a forfeit.  Buying out of the contract, from what I understand.

And, yeah.  Going to be tough to find somebody else at this point.

I know why crick neck scheduled it. To prove who was the better recruiter, but why on earth would a public school ever schedule a private in today’s age?
Basically a tryout for the private school to see if they want to poach players.
Make those schools travel. Don’t let it be easy on them and invite them to your campus.
