Should be a big week in Dayton coming up with the 100th anniversary of the Scopes Monkey Trial.

AE has a lot of new transfers and a very good incoming freshman class to mess with the current players. That's why I'm saying don't sleep on AE. Many are thinking they can't get back to their winning ways but I think this 2025 team will open a lot of eyes and let the state know, AE won't be an easy win anymore.

Take your own advice Mr. Bill. Memphis should stay out of the national news if it doesn't want people knowing about their "business." SP's classes of '25, 26 and 27 contributed as well. At the beginning of the season, we weren't sure if SP could make it out of the 2nd or 1st round in 2024 due to only 2 or 3 seniors only 1 of which played much. We were extremely proud of that 2024 team for what they accomplished between game 1 and game 15.

I think I saw somewhere where you had one of the top players in the country on your team. That in itself gives you a shot to win it again. And you are definitely right about Memphis. I think the Defense will be much improved this year. You all will have to come back to this thread after Game 1.

We have played Fulton twice glad we do. Region 1 is no fun weak schedule miss region 2. Split with Fulton beat us 34 14 last year. Beat them year before 35 26. But we had 3 d1 that year. Turtle if AE defense shows up you can win period.

I really enjoyed watching Campbell County on offense during the Price brothers run at the helm. A very exciting brand of football that the fans enjoyed. The best I remember Coach Pemberton played his starters pretty much all game long which I'm pretty sure wouldn't have set to well with the parents of the second man up. Night and day difference between him and the Price brothers. I really hate to see Campbell County return to the bottom again but hiring someone without any experience as a head coach sure is a recipe for that to happen.

He did, for sure. His recruiting was good in his really good years, of course, but towards the last 4-5 years his recruiting really dropped off, hence why his records became subpar. I don’t deny he wasn’t a great coach at one time, but I do think it was time to go, it was just gone about in the wrong way, obviously. Unless a coach is just killing it, anymore after about 10-15 years, fans start getting restless with the HC.

I can’t stand the Cougars but come on. This is the most ridiculous post I’ve ever seen & I know how to make ridiculous post myself lol. Pemberton wasn’t getting kids out & they went 2-8. This after having some success & good number of players under the Price twins. Thats what the Campbell County people didn’t like & that’s why Pemberton left.

This was a sad situation. Coach Brown did a great job at West. I think he got a raw deal from KCS & was used as a scape goat. He will land on his feet in a great place. Now the question is how will West be without him?

Every head coach is better when they have quality assistants & good talent. Fulmer hired great assistants & did a great job recruiting. He was a great coach.

Gatlinburg Pittman.

Alcoa lost to Corbin in 2017. I am not an Alcoa fan but they were cheated like crazy. Just like Blackman was in 2013 vs Bowling Green. Funny thing is Neither Corbin or Bowling Green wanted rematches the next year. I am old enough to remember Maryville going to Middlesboro Kentucky in 1975 and getting cheated. To Middlesboro's credit they played Maryville at Maryville in 1976 and took their whipping 35-0. The Blackman vs Bowling Green game was the worst officiating I ever seen.

Fulmer really started declining in his last years, and if you go look, he was quite mediocre without Cutcliffe. With that said, he had a great run at UT. I do believe he needed to go, though, but the way they went about it and the selection of the coaches in the subsequent years was sorely lacking.

Since 2002.. Gibson holds a 38-33 advantage over Westview in the seasons. Fact check me on that. Because I know it’s 100%. I wouldn’t say Gibson Co is bothered or scared of that jersey. In fact, if memory serves me right.. in the 2015-2020ish years Gibson was considered single A with about 400 students while Westview was considered double A with about 600+ students. And some of those wins for Gibson (A) during that time were blowouts… to a AA team that was at the state tournament year after year. What’s that show ya… I guarantee you Gibson isn’t scared of anyone. They play ball and has it been mentioned, they play ball with their own kids. Not other schools.
