  2. Jo Byrns vs East Robertson (match in the patch) called match in the patch because both cities Cross Plains and Adams where their schools reside are both known as two of the biggest Tobacco producers in the world per capita. ER is on a current win streak of 5 but Jo Byrns had a win streak of 17.

  3. he's been a slow starter today but turns it on later in the match. Dupill just won, Chase Walker just won, William Phillips just won in the conso's. Some more coming up, Team TN has been great representatives and wrestling their hearts out!

  4. Our state is going to need an Adam Schefter type to cover all of these moves

  5. There were also numerous other coaches who were asked about their opinions on high school transfers, Alcoa coach Brian Nix, Maryville Coach Derek Hunt, and West coach Lamar Brown, however, they all refused to speak on the matter.

  6. Eric Pullen resigned and today Rick Rice was named the Warriors new leader. It kind of reminded me of when Matt McConnell’s reign ended at Waverly after leading the Tigers football program from 2014-2018. The moment that Randall Boldin won the Class 1A State Championship at Whitwell in 2018 you just felt that his supporters from his hometown in Waverly would start calling out his name at every sign of struggle after one of their own had won a gold ball at another small school. Waverly had reached the semifinals twice during McConnell’s run and it just seemed like expectations would have been a “win it all like Boldin did or it’s not good enough” type of scenario. It was about to be the same type of scenario for Coach Pullen at McEwen because of the amount of success that Coach Rice has had for three plus decades. I am sure that it felt like a “no win” situation and he went ahead and moved on for that reason. I hope that Coach Rice does well and wins big at his alma mater. It’s definitely no fault of his and he shouldn’t be made to feel guilty for wanting to end his legendary career at his alma mater. I am sure that McEwen football fans are excited about what the season holds in store. I’ve known Coach Pullen for a long time and hope that he is at peace with his decision. I know that it had to be difficult.

  8. Mad Max and JoJo Urohchuk into Semis. Shame Walker and JoJo had to wrestle in the quarters. Young Chittum moves into Semis as well.

  10. White House vs Portland. Portland leads the series 28-27 and this was a deciding game to who would make the state championship game multiple times in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

  11. White House/ Portland is a long time rivalry. The two towns are both in Sumner County and have played many games in the regular season and met again in the playoffs.

  14. Also, Boone and Greeneville scrimmage next Friday. I’m sure it will be a “working” scrimmage where they just go 10 plays each over and over from 40 and no score keeping

  15. Honestly I haven't seen them since spring but yes the offense this year will definitely look much different than the first 2 seasons under Morris. Personally I think it's a good move and better fits our personnel. I'm anxious to get to a scrimmage or at worse the jamboree to see how it's all coming together

  17. Personally I'm fine with it. If a kid and their family see somewhere else as a better opportunity for themselves then why not? I'm just glad these kids are staying in state because they're fun to watch.

  18. Agree with you on developing kids , LA great example . Like TD or not Lipscomp indoor/ outdoor training facility has built as many kids for other programs as LA's own. Small schools don't have numbers to make football year round like bigger programs . Few schools have spring football, 7 on 7 teams, can't punish kids for pursuing dreams and sometimes that may mean leaving . You also may find you are not as a big of fish as you and your family thought you were in the bigger pond.

  19. Not true, players can now get paid in TN on NIL. So now it's just about a ring because they couldn't get it done where they live. Being a high school student in not a profession no matter how it gets spun because the coach can choose to leave.

  20. Great for McEwen - TERRIBLE for Summertown

  21. this is the smart approach. A coach's opinion on transfer depends on their most recent interaction with it. Webb coach is against it now, but didn't mind when Shavar came to webb in the first place. Was it last year that Farragut's starting QB was a first year transfer? Josh Jones saying no one should sit out and badmouthing concussion protocol is the worst take on here. Not sure what kind of parent would want their kid to transfer to a team led like that. Craziness.

  22. How did we get out selves in the shape we're in with the QB position. Maryville's QB position reminds me of a fast food restaurant with the dining room closed and two people working the drive thru. When stuff like that happens your fixing to go out of business. How did we go from having 5 or 6 QB's and even more at times ready for their number to get called to just two. Look at all the great QB's that have came through there and to be in this position is mind blowing. A lot of people are writing us off because of it and other rumors floating around. How did no one see this coming because I sure did back when Carson Jones was a junior and we had time to get someone in and prepared. We waited to late and got caught with our pants down to our ankles. This reminds me of the time Tennessee lost all their linemen to graduation and Derek Dooley didn't sign one linemen that year and it took forever to work their way out of that mess. I realize we have some good ones coming up but that could be a heavy price to pay either which way you go.

  23. Entristin. I see both sides but agree with the guy in the dawgs shirt. Coaches can transfer, teachers can transfer, honor society students can transfer for “better educations”, but let’s penalize athletes for taking a big chance to go to a new place hoping it will benefit them. It makes no sense. People quit their jobs everyday in hopes it will help them.

  24. There is one evening camp that is exactly as you describe. However, there's a QB/Receiver camp and OL/DL camp for the youth ages that are quite instructional. https://www.parksrec.com/recreation-program/summer-day-camps#linemen https://www.parksrec.com/recreation-program/summer-day-camps#quarterback
