Why so much hype? Because they are good. Period. They have played their region schedule of 7 games and the 3 others they did step up to play 2A and 3A teams. They are undefeated on the year. That is why all the hype.

all the hype isn't because theyu're winning it is because of the insane points they put on the board and the rather miniscule points they allow. i saw the tssaa rosters and i was amazed that tc didn't have hardly anyone over two hundred or were my eyes decieving me. they must be extremely well coached and very fast. but to back up my prior statements Jo Byrns is 11-0 and they're getting no hype some people say they had no competition and that may be true but they beat a fairly good east robertson team and could have put 70 to 90 points on five or six teams they have played but their coach doesn't like to do things like that(like 40 to nothing five mins into the clarksville academy game then took all starters out and refused to score again, punts on first down and such) so i say it isn't that they're winning but that they are DOMINATING, HUMILIATING, and DESTROYING everyone they play against(well mostly)

I really don't want to start the holy war again on whether huge score are sportsmanlike or not but I just saw this and thought it might add a little perspective:

EARLSBORO, Okla. - The Hanna High School basketball team can take some consolation: It didn't get shut out.

It did, however, lose 112-2 on Friday night to Earlsboro.

"It was embarrassing to watch," Earlsboro coach Jim Walling told The Oklahoman. "But you can't just tell your kids not to score. I've been coaching 27 years and have never been involved in something like this."

The Wildcats led 42-0 after one quarter and 73-2 at halftime. Walling pulled his starters in the second half, and game officials kept a running clock, stopping it only for free throws.

Each player on Earlsboro's 10-man boys' roster scored. Seven players finished in double figures.

BTW, Smith County is now ranked 6th in class 2A by the AP poll.

TC has played some decent competition but with the "privates" being out of 1A now, they won't see anymore "competition" this year.

This was TCs dream come true! No competition. Please Mr. TSSAA, put us in a Division that we will be assured winning every game. Please take all the competition out for us. Just keep on playing RBS Clint. Your the MAN!!!!!!

So let me figure this out, Now everyone is saying region 4 is weak. I thought that region 1 was the weak one in the state. Never the less it all comes down to Trousdale, or South Pitt form the east.

Hartsville has got G-ville this week. The G-ville boys are fired up. I hear that Smith will be playing and thier Noseguard will be coming back from injury. Should be a different team and I different D.

If they win(Hartsville) they have to go to South Pitt correct, I tell you this. South Pitt will not back down. They got a really good D from what I hear Hartsville has one more challange and that is South Pitt.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
