Owl St. is a special place to me. It is and always will be beautiful in my eyes. I know the coaches work hard to make it nice, and yes in the last ten years it has really improved. Kudos to those who have made that happen. My donation is on the "Wish" building, so I kinda claim a little credit. That is only because I am proud that my alma mater has something like that. When most would have been muddin or cancelled practice, the owls didn't seem to miss a beat yesterday on the turf. It was hard to tell from the truck, but seems to me that bodies were flying and spirits was high. Looked good and brought back some old memories. Some good and some bad. Hope to make it back today, but I don't know. Hope it is outdoors soon. Arena ball is fine with me though, as long as there is an owl involved. C ya aroud 4!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Owl Street...........

That big ole building at the end of Owl Street shore has come in handy this week. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

There are a bunch of teams can't do a whole lot in the mud and rain, and working in a gym is pretty much useless.

I am off today, and thought i would drive up to cemetary and check out some of my people. I saw Coach Bray slinging grass everywhere. I think the Owls will be outside today!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will finally get to see the entire owl team, and no just peeking through the door. I cant' wait. Can anybody tell me who has been the biggest surprise of spring??????? I have my opinions.

Those are two names that you didn't hear much if any last year. Were they underclassman last year? Or are they new to the program?

 

 

I think they are Srs...or will be. Jacob was Jacob Sherrill until last year. Played center a little. May be the center this year. Don't know about Schafer.

What's your opinions there Owlst ?

I heard some troubling news ....#54 out for the year????????????

I sure hope not...was expecting #54-#51-#72-#76 to provide leadership and experience to the O and D line.

Don't know all the names these days, but I have saw #18 and #3 show some signs of progress. I sure do hate that about #54. I thought he was a good football player!!!!!!! Do the Owls practice today????

Heard elbow problems...may be Tommy John type injury.....Nothing confirmed yet...as far as I know.

Just heard he will be out till February from having Tommy John surgery. Huge loss for the Owls, I certainly hate this for him as well.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
