Alcoa's opponents coming into this game are 92-52 while Milan's opponents are 86-74. Alcoa's schedule will have them more than ready for this game. Definitely hard to say that Milan is Alcoa's toughest opponent.

I am sure that your info is correct. If it is that means Milan's opponents have played a combined 16 more games than Alcoa's opponents. How is that possible being as everyone plays 10 regular season games? It must mean that Milan either a)played more playoff teams, Milan's opponents went farther in the playoffs, or c) all of the above. I believe c might actually be the answer.

Not so fast with your comeback. Do research before you reply. The reason for more games from milan opponents is because Alcoa's record does not include the teams they played 2x (on 2 occasions). Since you are so fast to argue for Milan, let me include those games. That would make Alcoa's opponent's record 112-57. Geeze....I was trying to give you the advantage.

Well I remember that game and Williamson was very impressive, but I don't recall that there was ever any real concern on Alcoa's part  This is a different year, however I believe same results, but with a few surprises along the way. F5 sets another record with a 6th consecutive Gold Ball

If there was no concern then why did you have to run a trick play to score your first (I believe it was your first) touchdown. It was because you had tried to run up the middle but got stopped. It was a nice trick play that was successful, but trust me you would not have run it had you not been concerned.

Toney is a very good player with a very good o-line. Somebody used the word patient to describe him and I would say that is very accurate. He doesn't seem to outrun his blocks. The two packaged together with a very good fullback is a tough game to plan for. Hopefully Milan's O can keep Alcoa's D on the field for long periods of time. This will wear on all those boys that go both ways. The 3 and outs were a big problem for Milan last year. Once Milan started staying on the field on offense, Alcoa got tired and was not as effective when they got the ball.

I would worry about getting Alcoa's offense off the field before I worried about wearing down their big D-line.

Disclaimer: This is not a real tornado. No cows, purple bulldogs, trees or houses where harmed in making this CARTOON tornado. This is to be used entertainment value only and should not reflect any damage to the greater Milan area. Any resemblance of the purple bulldog to the milan bulldog would be considered a false claim as said bulldog is a purple - pantone 2725C and not milan purple that is a pantone 272 C.

No doubt your D-line is good, but I was specifically talking about your qb, Toney, Tyler, and your fullback which go both ways.

Good point! But they won't play both ways long the coach will put the F3 in after the F5 goes up 3 scores early.

Tyler has been used more on defense in some games. They tend to rest him in games where they feel they need him the most. The fullback Tyson....normally doesn't play on defense unless there is an injury. Warren sometimes plays FB and he is a beast on the DL. The QB never leaves the field (he's not going to wear down, he's done this all year). Toney goes both ways but he won't wear down (he gets 15-20 carries per game consistently).

QB does play a lot on defense, but Toney plays just over half the snaps on defense, Robinson actually does not play half the snaps on offense and what fullback are YOU talking about?? Tyson plays absolutely NO defense.

You are just as arrogant as you were last year. It is that kind of blind arrogance that is going to lead to a deep depression when Alcoa does get beat.

Heh....I figured that it took Milan three years to get over the Goodpasture hump, It will take at least that long before you will EVER corral the F5.

You will continue to be on the outside looking in. dump.gif

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
