howdoitknow
Congrats to CAK on a great victory and I echo the comments regarding Alcoa's epic run of 37 playoff wins in a row that came to an end tonight. The Tornadoes fought hard and made a game out of it. I hope that nobody gets on here and questions this Alcoa senior class because they have been just as important of a part to the state title runs as the previous groups have been. Going 17-1 in the state playoffs (with 3 state titles) in 4 years is nothing to feel ashamed about.
CPA4Ever
if we can get past fairview tonite, then we shold make it to cookville. we have a better chance against cak than alcoa because alcoa is in our heads because of the last 2 meetings. JMO. Yeh, we can't beat Milan, just like we couldn't beat PC the first time, Goodpasture, the PC the 2nd time. Get ready to see some real defense. CPA4Ever
Congrats to CAK, and a big shout out to Alcoa and their amazing run that may never be equaled in TN HS sports. In sports, all runs come to an end, but the Tornadoes have a lot to be proud of. Now, on to Milan and a tough game. Would love to play CAK in the Ship. IMO, that would be the best offense in the state against the best defense.
owcoa
a big shout out to Alcoa and their amazing run that may never be equaled in TN HS sports. Maryville High School had the longest active football winning streak in America (74-0) until their loss in the 2008 Tennessee 4A State Championship Game. volfan1085
There is no way that u can say that Alcoa's run was as great as Maryville's. They played much weaker competition than Maryville did during those years and Maryville had much better players than any of those Alcoa teams did, but congrats to CAK, I hope that they go on to win the state championship. I can't help but say this is one of the most inane posts ever on CoachT. Tonight belongs to CAK, well played. Volfan stick a fork in those dozen posts. coachrus
Sounds like a great game. Can anyone give a recap?
AllRegion
Alcoa led 21-10 at the half, but CAK fought back to get the lead 24-21 early in the third. Alcoa then recovered a CAK fumble and scored to make it 28-24 Tornadoes. It stayed that way until CAK stopped an Alcoa drive with a little over 2 minutes to go in regulation and quickly stormed down the field and scored. With the score 31-28 Warriors and around a minute remaining, Alcoa drove down to near the CAK 10 and nailed a game-tying kick as time ran out. In overtime, Alcoa scored on the first play and had the PAT blocked, while CAK scored on their first play and converted the extra point, 38-37 final. It was truly an outstanding game from start to finish...one of the best I've seen in a long time.

Those Alcoa teams were good I will give them that, but they only had two seasons where they went undefeated. Maryville did it four years in a row, you can't compare Alcoa to that. They are talking about 7 straight championships in their classification. Not comparing to maryville, relax. Congrats again CAK. Until you meet Alcoa next year, good luck! With that offense you may not need luck!
FootballDad
If you came to this game tonight you definitely got your money's worth! Hats off to both teams for a thrilling, never say never, hard hitting, whats going to happen next, kind of game. Wow! Alcoa gave it all they had and so did CAK. Just a classic case of two teams refusing to lose, leaving it all on the field, and sadly somebody had to lose. It took overtime and a blocked PAT to settle it. Alcoa did themselves proud by coming back with a good game plan and more intensity than the last meeting 3 weeks ago IMO. They fought like champions and have nothing to be ashamed of. I just hope CAK can now represent Dist.4 as well as Alcoa has. Alcoa Nation did a great job of coming and supporting their team. What can I say about my boys in blue (actually black tonight)? They started off slow but kept chipping away. We lost 2 games by 1 pt. each this season and one of them was in OT, so it was good to finally have one of these go our way. Congratulations WARRIORS!!! Got to get to bed, this game has about killed me, ha.
