Well, as i thought would happen Maryville represented east tennessee is awesome fashion...Riverdale has nothing to hang their head about, Maryville will more then likely do the same thing to Whitehaven. They are just a machine, no denying that. I am just glad we(oak Ridge) got beat when we did, cause it probably woulda been a beatdown anyways lol...nah, i wish we coulda made it, but i really didn't feel like losing to Maryville twice in the same season AGAIN hahaha...I made it at about the 10 minute mark of the 2nd half. I got off work at 8:30, wish i coulda seen the whole game, oh well. Maryville, as i have always said THRIVES on the other team turning the ball over, and when they do they make the other team pay badly. If whitehaven is gonna stand a chance they are gonna have to hold onto the ball. Sounds like Riverdale got some turnovers of their own, but couldn't make Maryville pay and if you don't it is gonna be a long night for that team. Go Red Rebs, all of oak ridge is pulling for you to beat Whitehaven. I know i will be! Congrats to Riverdale on a fine season!

What would it take for South Panola to hire Maryville's coach away from you guys? He'd have SEC quality athletes at his disposal every year. My Tigers didn't play for the state championship for the first time since '01 and we lost FOUR freakin games this year and got freakin embarrassed in each loss. Our current coach didn't build the SP program and he never won a darn thing before he got to South Panola. I want a new coach and I want you guys coach. We probably got the top junior(Antonio Conner) in the country returning next year with an amazing offensive line with one guy(Deon Mix) having an offer from Nick Saban already. I want your coach now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Riverdale on a great season. I hope all of you have a safe trip home tonight. Hopefully some of you will make the trip to Cookeville next week and join us on the visitor's side as we face Whitehaven. I see many more classic match-up between these two teams in the coming years.

About the game...Neither team played their best ball. Too many turnovers for both teams. Maryville did a better job capitalizing on the turnovers. I thought the O-line did a great job for Maryville. Riverdale's D-backs covered well..Patton (4) tucked and ran on several occassions after having plenty of time to find a receiver. Prevo (22) ran hard tonight...I can't believe he is a soph. Jacob West (2) had an outstanding game...he was flying to the ball. Can't wait to see the stats for the game.

Great season Riverdale and hope you guys have a safe trip home. Looking forward to playing you all again.

I felt like Maryville controlled the line of scrimmage on offense and defense all night. Our offensive line just punishes the defense up front and continues to roll downfield blocking the LB's/DB's. Riverdale's DL was very big but the long drives and being on the field for most of the 2nd half had a lot of those big boys tired. Maryville could not get rolling in the 1st half because of the turnovers.

Very impressed with #5, he can flat out run the football and is going to deliver a punishing blow to whoever steps in front of him.

Shawn Prevo ran the ball very hard as well.

Defensive backs and linebackers continue to tackle with an attitude. Defensive line played great......

WAY TO GO REBELS

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
