BS they can lose! They are humans lol. Now it is unlikely they will lose often but they are not a machine, they are a bonifide all star team. 12-1 has a very nice ring to it from my point of view but Im a bit biased. I dont expect them to keep smashing the Bears but only time will tell. Until then I hope that Smoky Bear nation does not take your point of view because believing you can beat them has to be the 1st step. You clearly know the govs cant beat them I guess its a bad time to be a gov fan. I would think most RESPECTABLE programs would think they have a chance on any given friday night. Heck the Bears had their butts handed to them by the champs 2 times last year & everyone I know cant wait to get another chance. Coach Brewer sent a message to everyone when he sought out the Rebs as a non conference game. SC wants to be the Champs and the only chance they have is to play the best more often. That is why DB is on our schedule they are 1 of the best.

Now as for the ranking I like where the Bears are at 8. But on any given friday they can beat anybody. Thats what we believe around here!

GoBears!!!

I'm sorry but your dreaming out loud.

The March to Cookeville is on... Will it be a Rubber match with the Red Dragons or Will someone from the "SEC" of TN High School Football finally make it through to face Da Haven cause we'll be there???   :popcorneater:

Whitehaven will have a pretty tough Hendersonville to contend with (among other teams), should both teams make it that far. Hendersonville has talent coming up that is rare for their program, so it will be interesting to see if they can perform when the expectations are high

A Wing-T team won't beat a Coach Harmon and Coach Saulsberry led Defense...

Mt. Juliet nearly did in 2012. If it is just a run-exclusive version of the Wing-T, I agree Whitehaven shouldnt lose. But the best Wing-T offenses have learned that you no longer can rely only on the run and consistently win in the playoffs. Hendersonville returns just about everybody at a skill position on offense, as well as some sophomores that should contribute. If they lose games this season, more than likely it will not be because of a failure to put points on the board.

Senator, A Wing T offense gave your Tiger D fits in 2012 semis. Had it not been for incredible game by M Dodson,or the outstanding catch by Perry right before the half; Mt Juliet would have been playing Maryville for the title. Take one big play away for the Tiger O and the game has a different outcome.

Not saying the Hendersonville will even play Da' Haven; but they have an outstanding O and a very good team.

MidTenn, where do you put Mt Juliet in your pre season rankings and what are your thoughts on the Bears for the season and 9AAA?

Right now, I have Mt. Juliet as a team that is probably going to finish 4th or 5th in their district. Even without the injury to Chowbay, Mt. Juliet would have struggled to win game because theyre defense just was not good at all, giving up almost 30 ppg. If Mt. Juliet can win big against Lebanon and Antioch, along with pulling an upset against Station Camp (theyre not beating Blackman), then the outlook for their season looks a little better.

I think Hendersonville is clearly the favorite in 9-AAA, but every spot after that is up for grabs. If Mt. Juliet can shore up the defense and if Chowbay can play to his potential, then they could have a pretty good bounce back season. I think this is the season we find out if Trey Perry is a long term solution for Mt. Juliet.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
