Every good program has some skeletons. (I'm sure you know that though lol) Mac is more of a program builder in my opinion.

You said it yourself, Mac is a wingt genius, and they'z some outstanding and level headed assistant coaches and support personnel up there to keep the old bull's nose to the ground .

He always had great respect for their program while he was here. I'm sure they will make the right hire.

Old Pirate is wondering, Mac was @ SM as an assistant, was he contacted or on the wish list to be the new Bald Eagle? Jest seems like you think so highly he would naturally be a consideration to perch on the nest! BTW, the new SM hire sure makes folkes wonder if you mtn fellers got an ear full of another SOS. I like Mac and think he's a great coach.  The paint thing was kind of stupid, though.  Doubt HCDE would have hired him.  It would have been hard for anybody around these parts to beat out the guy we got.
