Very interested in seeing how Maryville plays them. I expect Maryville to score on them, but I will really be paying attention to how they handle West on defense and stop their big plays.

Kudos to west for scheduling the twin cities back to back for scrimmages. Nothing to fear from Alcoa or murvil this year, but most coaches will not make that commitment. Regardless of the scores, they have already won.

I agree. Steel sharpens steel. You can't go against smaller or weaker teams in all of your scrimmages and spring games and expect to really get better. If you do, the things you need to work on and have fixed before the games count remain hidden and your team has a false confidence about their own abilities.

Hammer I have preached that for years on here but some people don't like to hear the truth. I'll even tell you the truth who has the best concession stands and oh boy does that ever get the the natives going.

Preach. Find teams comptitive to or better than you to play in these games. Only way you get better.

I can see a bunch of the freshmen getting some starting time on the JV team and seeing some light duties with the varsity this year mainly because the sophomore class had a lot of attrition. Absolutely see none of the freshmen starting unless a rash of injuries started happening. Seems to be a very good class of Freshmen but it will be interesting to see if they start on the JV will they be on the freshmen team also. If not I see the freshmen team getting stripped of it's good players as did the seniors when they were in the 9th grade and ended up with a 4-4 record but won all their games when they were at the junior high.

    • Y’all boys can’t spell discipline. Probably lead the state in personal fouls last year. Being halfway disciplined in 1 game against Smith County in 3rd round doesn’t dismiss the rest of the season. “Shoulda” won the state championship but those mouths got the best of you yet again. Marion already had a lot more retuning than y’all this year. Adding these 2 D1 kids will 100% make a major impact. Marion will stand on business this year. They haven’t forgotten. I’m just keeping it real
    • MC upgraded with 2 studs. If they can’t get it done this year with a generational speed talent in Pickett then I’m not sure they ever will. Huge favorite in the East currently.    Multiple offers from FCS calls for gold.
    • no they will be tough for sure
    • Marion just jumped ER as the favorites in the East. Two big time transfers for y’all kinfolks. Bullseye has been set now. I said it the last two years it is time and both times y’all let me down. Can’t say you’re short on talent this year or that you’re young. Time to put up or shut up. Surely y’all can get over the hump this year. I’m just keeping it real
    • Should have won by 30 last year if we played discipline at the very least. May have got 2 dogs up front but remember we have the best DL in the state on our team. Also added a 6’6” 320lb O lineman.
