I would hate that for the RB and the other kids who plan to play college ball. If I was in his shoes I wouldnt know how to feel.

I admit I may have blinders on because of my Trezevant love but what you may call immaturity I call defensiveness against not jealousy but hypocrisy. The systematic academic problem in Memphis is no secret to us or those around the state. It is nothing we are proud of but hey it is what it is. There is a lack of good parents that seems to be raising kids were education doesn't matter. My beef is with the people who come on here and say punish Trezevant for academics in one sentence then in the next saying how far their team can make it now in the playoffs.

I agree with you on some things. I get your defensiveness now. The people who are high fiving each other because their football team has a better chance at state are also at fault. I can't fault you for defending these kids. My parents worked with kids in inner city Atlanta for a lot of years and I know how different the challenges are for the kids in that setting. I just think that making the top priority (education) less important to make their lives "easier" in the short run hurts them in the long run.

I wouldn't use that choice of wording but I agree the sportsmanship displayed was totally unwarranted and unacceptable.

 

Targeting the holder on pats and putting your helmet in the side of a defenseless player is beyond unwarranted and unacceptable, releasing air pressure from the team bus is beyond unwarranted and unacceptable. There is a reason they banned them from the playoffs for 2 years because Teli White didn't handle like the tssaa asked so the tssaa took care of it. Edited by Swipes

Week 10 seems like an at best guess when this will be wrapped up investigation wise.  All of the records will be combed through.  All the athletes with altered grades will have to be interviewed.  All the staff with discrepancies will have to be interviewed.  That is going to take a lot of hours to do, and only staff for the school system will be the ones involved.  

 

Messy messy situation.  Though they self reported and are forfeiting the games, you have to wonder if the TSSAA will lay down any other punishment.  I don't wish that on any school, but rules are rules.

 

As to last year and if that should be part of the punishment, I am on the fence about that.  The game was played and you can't change that part, but if you have a player that should have been ineligible... I personally think they will just keep things as is unless the investigation shows that this has happened over a lot of years of time.

I agree with you but that's not what THUGS do you may not know but thugs take guns and use them to rob,steal, and kill throughout the community. What happened against Greenville was a team that got punched in the mouth on the field and out-coached on the sideline and they responded horribly. Reminds me of Tyson biting Holyfield's ear.

A thug by definition is a violent person. I've met many thugs that didnt need a gun to be a thug.

      After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.

      Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.

      This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.

      Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.

      It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
