First and foremost again congrats to GB. Very good group of young men playing football. Really impressed with how number 8 can spin it. 1 and 6 are good hard nosed backs. Yalls linemen are huge. At the end of the day could SP have won, yes but two 4th down touchdown passes by GB combined with them stopping us a few times were too much to overcome. The better team won. I think y'all have a shot at gold. I'll be pulling for you

Thanks for the hospitality guys and GB was just the better team Nothing less nothing more. You all have a good team but you are small. Our big boys wore you down.Targeting isn't a call in high school and it was clean.Head on a swivel that's what we are taught!Silvey is a physical beast!

High School Football is made up of communities .Boys who have played together all their lives .It makes a huge difference. One cannot construct a football team . Like a building. Because these young men are human beings first .Made of flesh and blood . Winning the Gold Ball is great . But winning hearts . And directing paths of humility. Brings our cummunities together..

South Pitt ain't been hit like that all year...and it started showing mid way through the 3rd quater....and for anyone thinking #50 silveys hit was dirty then u don't need to be wathching football...he come back around and saved Willis from getting sacked for a loss....great over all win...Roberts run the ball hard and #6 glibert flat out went into beast mode...the game was dominated by gbacks line on both sides of the ball

Both teams played tough. GB in a way may have outcoached us, or we overthought some things. Helmet to helmet on a defenseless player regardless if offense or defense is targeting these days, maybe I'm wrong. But, we shouldn't have been in that situation. The reverse flea flicker was a gutsy call and it worked for GB. I do think if Kennemore would have been playing defense instead of the freshman it would have been an INT. The freshman for us is gonna be a good one though. We never quit I liked that. What has been our strength lately got wore down later in the game and that was our line. Not to mention we just didn't seem to be able to tackle. Same thing happened to Coalfield last week. They tackled well early on then forgot how to in the 2nd half. Also, we never got our passing game going and that hurt our run. Silvey is a beast and plays well running down the line from the backside and making the tackle from behind. Those plays are normally a large gain for us but he made the tackle for only a 2-3 yard gain. #6 for y'all made things happen in the 2nd and 3rd quarter till it wore us down then Mr football took over. Congrats to both teams. Great to meet The GB guys from here on CoachT and also GCA Pride. Also talked with Coach Henry from Coalfield. Good luck GB against Dresden it should be another barn burner.

Congrats to GB.  The 4th down and 12 flea flicker for Greenback to get their first score was huge. Momentum swung the other way. Another 4th down TD sealed the deal.  Pirates got worn down and nothing you can do or say much other than the best team won.

I thought with a lil over 4 min remaining in the half with the score tied at 21 that SP needed to score.  GB kicked the ball out of bounds setting the Pirates up near midfield but got absolutely nothing out of the drive. SP punted and GB scored a TD with a lil over 30 seconds till half.

Gilbert was the main cog for GB especially early on. He broke tackle after tackle.

I agree with powerp, GB's line and the two 4th down td's and our inability to get something before the half were the ballgame.

Again congrats to GB.

Very proud of this Pirate team. A great group of young men that played the game the way it should be played. We took another step toward the ultimate goal and things look really good coming up.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
