This game will be played with a 12th man the coaching staff . Oakland will come in with a season and proving coaching staff. Maryville will come in with a newly coaching staff Maryville downfall would be they are coming in chasing their history rather than the current moment. Oakland just coming in to have fun and take care of business with a bunch of Junior's. Oakland will win by taking care of the threat first .Maryville QB, beat him up early and fast .that's just Oakland football

You said new staff. GQ has moved on, but the current staff has been in position for years. Don’t you be worrying  about Coach Hunt, he doesn’t chase anything.

And you do understand that the only "newly" coach on the Maryville staff is one who has been coaching at Smyrna for the past few years and came in to fill the slot opened when GQ left and Coach Hunt was elevated in to the head coaching position, correct?  And he was a guy who was an outstanding player at Maryville, so the Maryville system wasn't exactly new to him.    

Otherwise, the entire coaching previous coaching staff is completely intact.  

And that "newly" head coach, by the way, had his team in the game at Oakland playing without his All State and D1-A committed quarterback back in week 2 of the season.  It was a 17-14 game.  Not exactly a blow out.  

Look - coach Creasy and his staff do a great job with that program.  No question about it. 

But so do Coach Hunt and his staff, and to call it a "newly" coaching staff is just plain ignorant and uniformed.

You have a bitter WB fan talking smack trying to get Oakland and you guys fired up ... Poor guy has went over the edge with his anger and bitterness . Maryville fans take nothing for granted and anyone from Oakland and Maryville who thinks this game is for the State is a Complete idiot and has obviously not been paying attention .

      Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.

      It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.

      Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
