West Tennessee has been pretty good this year but we haven't had the history and tradition compared to Middle and East Tennessee schools.

Lausanne will win D2-AA, but that's it. Huntingdon was suppose to win it in 1A, but they lost and all we have is Lake County which the Falcons are underdogs to Cornersville. 2A is UC, but I'll pick CA over the Tornadoes. 3A is Covington, but they'll have to play perfect in order to stay with Pearl Cohn. 4A is Haywood. Brighton is underdogs to Beech, that's 5A, and the winner of Oakland/Maryville will win it in 6A.

Also, a lot of our teams would get destroyed to Middle/East Tennessee teams. We also don't have a lot of 5A and 6A schools which hurts our perception a lot.

I’ll take that back,  West Tennessee has had a terrible year of football.

No disrespect to the  Yellow Jackets ,but Haywood is Beech on steroids. The team that you played in the 1st round they played in a 2 weeks before the season, and won 70 to 0 they would have beaten SS 63 to 14, they didn't won't to play SS because it wouldn't help them get better Oakland wouldn't play Haywood this year. The  guys that play offensive don't play defense.

Now THAT'S funny!!! May want to ask your coach about the 'Oakland wouldn't play Haywood this year' comment!! Running clocked them last year..........would've been the same this year, I'm afraid. Haywood is scary fast and athletic ALL over the field, but insinuating that Oakland wouldn't play them is a little bit of a stretch.

I agree 100%, for both teams, you don't have to be "perfect". You need to be able to replicate your best game or close to your best game every Friday night in the playoffs. I don't know about Haywood, but I don't think Springfield has done this yet. It doesn't mean they can't or won't. If Springfield cleans up the turnover mess they've had the past two games and convert more of the red zone trips to points it's going to be a heck of a semi-final showdown!

I have to agree with this turnovers and not getting points within the opponents 30 yard line have plagued the Jackets in the playoffs , if they want to move on this will be essential against Haywood . Looking forward to Friday night , nothing like high school football , the purest form of the sport.

You are exactly right about the playoff woes. Got to clean that mess up

Maybe the same reason Brentwood Academy wouldn't play Whitehaven...

If I ask you to play me this and year and I was a coach and you where a coach, and you  tell me not this year. I will not tell the public you said maybe in 2019  I  would say I'm playing someone else out of respect  of you,but if my player ask me I wouldn't tell him what I told you

Not really sure what that means, but I can assure you, 'wouldn't play them' is laughable, at best. I assume you know the scores of the past 2 seasons. 49-6 in 2015 and 52-6 in 2016. Would've been the exact same this season. The open weeks didn't match up, period.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
