Never too early...Who Wins Class A 2018-19 and why?

Summertown and Loretto are interesting  teams. Both are very talented, but all the impact players for both teams are sophomores or younger. Both could struggle early this year as the kids grow up. Don’t think either is a threat to win a state championship this season but they’ll be tough outs if the youngsters mature quickly.

Don't tell Loretto that their talent is young, because this  junior class that is coming back may want to remind you about their abilities !  The junior class is loaded and the young talent in the sophomore and freshman class is really good.  I'm thinking we may see 2 District 12 teams in the state this year !

And don't forget, summertown returns 2 sophomores that were all district, region and state players from last yrs state runner up team.   There's gonna be a war for the next 3 yrs in women's basketball in district 12A between Summertown and Loretto!

The west side of the state is loaded in Single A too... it's going to be some good games!

Absolutely, West TN is loaded.   Greenfield has to be the favorites returning 2 miss bball finalist from a state championship team.   Gibson co, Gleason , Huntingdon and Dresden are gonna be studs too.

Summertown is playing in the Gibson Co thanksgiving tournament and hopefully will see some of those teams early.

Less than a month out!  This should be an exciting yr!

Huntingdon will be down this year. The fuller girl will not play at all this year due to an acl tear suffered during the summer. They only have two players that played significant minutes last year. McKenzie should take the top spot in the district.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
