Huntingdon will have to throw the ball to make milans defense back off the ball. They are quick on defense

You're right. And we have had some success throwing this year. We have also had a lot of bad drops and busted protection that turn into turnovers. That's what I meant by being able to execute once adjustments have been made.

I sure didn’t expect it and gave credit where credit was due but Milan is going to bring y’all back to reality. But it’s like you say the Mustangs are young and Milan is loaded. You will see bud.

Back to reality? Where are we now? What have I said that is not based in reality?

They are the favorites. We are the underdog. We were also the underdog in the Waverly game. Just stating facts here.

Then my OPINION is that Huntingdon can play with Milan if we are able to execute and make adjustments and eliminate turnovers and unforced penalties.

It is also my opinion that if huntingdon does not do those things, this game will turn out 42-6 with huntingdon on the wrong end of the whoopin stick.

Peabody was the underdog going in to Milan game also. You guys throw the ball around and then it opens the run game up and I think you guys will be in it. If not Milan will prevail

Make no question about it, Huntingdon will roll into Milan on Friday night as the underdog. Milan has good size and speed that seems to be clicking with their new coaches. Huntingdon will try to establish a running game using a handful of backs. None will kill you for an 80 yard td, but they are all tough, sound football players. If Stangs can hold on to the football and limit the big plays on defense I look for this to be a lot closer than all you want to believe.

The linebackers are to fast and athletic for most backs to run on,that being said our big backs didn't run it against them, stretching the field and forcing  the linebackers to back off is the only hope against the athletes they have on the field. Balance will keep you in the game if you cant make play against the pass this will get ugly really fast. If you guys go 1 dimensional this will be a 42 to 7 Mialn win.

I don’t think Milan will put up 42. Huntingdon's defense has been stingy and has been their strong point.
I really wish we would start out balanced and not wait until we have to throw the ball. Wishful thinking. This team plays hard and if they can cut down on dumb penalties and turnovers this will be a good game.

How is it not possible that there is not one kid walking the halls at HHS that can kick a ball 15 yards? There are kids lined up on the sidelines at practice(that never get any action) that 1 coach could take down and kick extra points over and over. A few years ago Peabody had a kicker that looked like the ball wouldn’t make it over the goal post. Barely did. I don’t think he missed a extra point the entire year. That’s all you need.

Very true, the only reason Peabody beat Milan bad is new coach and Peabody has a well rounded game for a 2 a team.

We’ve had guys that can boot it and guys that barely get the job done lol. I remember when we came up in 2012 you guys had a front style kicker and he had a leg on him

I may have my years mixed up but I think it was when you guys beat Adamsville late in one of the best high school games I can remember. Y’all went on to win the Championship. Malone may have been QB. Either way, the kicker didn’t have a huge leg, just went out and kicked it down the middle. Barely over the bar. I think I remember reading in the Jackson Sun that he was perfect for the season. Maybe 2014-15. I think Sanders was his last name.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
